The Best Ways to Determine Your Fantasy Football Draft Order

0

It’s the most beautiful time of the year! I know, it’s not Christmas, but for us fantasy football enthusiasts it’s one step closer to our fantasy football drafts. So too training camps are in full swing, and pre-season games are being played. From this point on preparation is in full swing and we at Faceoff Sports Network have you covered! There are many ways to get prepared, but what about draft order?

Determining your fantasy football league’s draft order is a creative and fun way to inject excitement into your fantasy football league. There are many different ways to determine draft order. Heck, sometimes you can make it for whatever slot you want! You don’t want the first pick? Cool, pick another position! It’s up to you and your league mates to decide!

Given that, this isn’t your “let’s go off of the computer randomizer” or “reverse order of the previous year’s standings”. This is a fun way to get your league mates involved with real challenges or activities. This type of draft order is for those leagues that do in-person drafts!

If you missed out on 10 ways to determine draft order, we have you covered! However, I’ll re-elaborate some of these as they’re great!  Here are 17 of the best ways to determine your redraft order:

Trivia Night

Most bars and restaurants have a trivia night.  While this one may be a challenge as league size could make it difficult. However, the league gets together and each member builds their own trivia team. Even your significant other can be added to make it couples’ night. With this intention, the winner to last place gets to pick their draft slot. Can’t make it? The winner picks your slot.

Poker Tournament

In another case, a fun night can help you determine your draft order in a friendly game of poker. Yet, the challenge here though is it’s not free to do. Your league agrees on a buy-in. That being said, the money won’t go to the winner but will be added to the pot for the fantasy football championship.

With this intention, the buy-in can be from $5 to $20, your league makes the call. Hence, if you didn’t put money into it, would anyone really care?  Once eliminated, you are done until there is a winner. From there the draft order is picked from winner to loser.

Beer Pong Competition

Generally, who doesn’t like a fun game of beer pong? Don’t drink? No Problem, use water!

First and foremost build a bracket where It can be single elimination and the winner moves on. Losers play for later slots, similar to that on Sleeper to determine the winner of the 1.01.

Flip Cup Competition

Along with beer pong, you could even add this to it. However, if you want to just use this, set up a line of cups on a table. In fact, you can be as little as five cups, or as many as 12. With this in mind set the game up and make sure to set up a competition going up against someone. Based on your scoring you set up determines the order.

Bowling Tournament

For the purpose of this, it can be as little as one game or as many as three. With this in mind, you can make your own rules. Not only do you have to use high score, but can even look at strikes, spares, gutters, and anything else you can think of. However, there should be a catch. While it’s fun to play, the loser has to buy a round of drinks for everyone.

Dart Tournament

Have you ever played Cricket? No, not the bat and ball game, but is similar yet different from that of baseball. Yeah, that last sentence is confusing.
I’m talking darts here! Clearly, the purpose of the game is to hit the numbers 15-20 in a sequence of three along with the bull’s eye. Furthermore,  once you hit that number three times you can move on to the next one! The first one done, wins. Don’t know how to play, check it out here.

Chugging Contest

Coupled with beverages, water to alcohol, you decide how this game is played. While making it a single-elimination challenge will make the game go quicker as you don’t want to be too drunk or have to pee during the draft. However determining how to score this isn’t just for those who wins, but overall time. Yes someone will win it, but your time alone could give you the second pick!

Cornhole Tournament

Cornhole, bean bag toss, bags, whatever you call it. You get the idea behind the name of the game. Nevertheless, it’s a fun game for everyone. Yet, make it a single or double-elimination tournament. Want to make it challenging? If you throw from one side of the board and win, you have to go to the other side of the field and on the opposite side of the board. A challenge that is fun for all!

Game of Golf

What person doesn’t enjoy golf? Well, okay not all of us can say we’re good at it, but it’s a good time no matter how good or bad you are. However, enjoy the day (or evening) with your league in 18 holes of golf. The best (lowest) score wins the spot, followed by everyone else. Don’t want to play the main course? Make it putt putt!

Go-Kart Race

Get your group together and enjoy a three race tournament of go-kart racing. How do you get your positioning? You can go by last year’s finish from winner down to last place. First year doing this? Use the website Wheel of Names to figure out your order.

Usually, there are three races. The one with the best finish wins. Want to make it even more interesting? Some places will have the fastest lap, best time, and so forth. In this case, if you don’t want to make it boring, add these little bonuses to make it more enjoyable for all. The best part is once you pick your car, that’s your car for the whole race!

Basketball Competition

From a three-point contest, free throws, or a game of horse, this one keeps everyone active. Altogether, your league can do all three or just one single game. Let the trash talk flow, especially for the one who sucks at basketball.

Laser Tag Competition

All things considered before doing this, there are many aspects to how to score in this game. Set up rules with how you want to judge scoring. From total kills to accuracy, there are many ways to score this. As a rule, just when you think you’re doing good, remember that the screen at the end tells the truth.

Punt, Pass, and Kick Challenge

Simply put, we know football. But can you play any form of real football? Put yourself to the ultimate challenge. Ultimately, set up rules and a point system and have fun with it. This could be a challenge that everyone had a good time at.

Obstacle Course

While I’m sure you’ve seen something like this on TikTok or whatever else but do a timed obstacle course with multiple things that are timed. Additionally, you can even use multiple things listed to help you out. The person with the best time wins.

NFL Playoff Challenge

If you think you have what it takes to figure out who will be in the Super Bowl? Try NFL.com playoff challenge. Let the one with the most points determine the order.

Super Bowl Prop Bets

Take a list of all the Super Bowl prop bets to use as a way to determine draft order. Need tiebreakers? Since everyone watches till the end, let the final score determine this.

NCAA Bracket

No matter if you know anything about college basketball or not, everyone plays March Madness. For this reason, have your league make a bracket with a point system involved. Obviously, there will be some sort of tiebreaker, with it being like the final score in the championship. In the end, someone wins.

Did Your League Do a Random Order?

I’m sorry that you missed out on the fun this year. You can always use one of these listed above for next season. Or even better, look to punish the last-place team.

Whether you’re drafting from the 1.04 or somewhere else, we have strategies for it all.
