Thursday-Night-Football-Player-Prop-Bets-Seahawks-vs-Cowboys

Welcome back to Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets.

Week 12 of the 2023 NFL regular season is in the books. Hopefully, bettors came away with more money in their pockets than they started the week with. However, the grind never stops. So, let’s not waste any time and get down to business in Week 13 of the 2023 NFL season.

Thursday night we have a matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite player prop bets for Thursday’s game.

All props and odds are from DraftKings.

Player Prop Bets for Thursday Night Football

Tony Pollard Over 63.5 Rushing Yards (-125)

While Dak Prescott and the passing attack have been on fire lately, Pollard’s production has picked up over the past few weeks. The star running back had 79 rushing yards on Thanksgiving against the Washington Commanders, his highest total since Week 3. Furthermore, he has averaged over five yards per rushing attempt in back-to-back games after facing several talented run defenses. More importantly, Pollard has averaged 60.8 rushing yards per game this season despite his slump in the middle of the year.

Bettors might feel nervous betting this prop bet as the line has increased over the week. However, the alternate rushing total of over 55.5 yards (-165) is an appealing option for more cautious bettors. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have struggled to slow down opposing running backs, giving up 89.1 rushing yards per game to the position this season. Furthermore, they have seen running backs average 128.2 rushing yards per game against Seattle over the past five weeks, totaling 133 or more in 60% of those matchups.

Tony Pollard Over 3.5 Receptions (+120)

What’s better than one bet on Pollard? Two bets! The former Memphis star can make plays in the passing game. He has averaged 3.6 receptions per game this season, totaling four or more in nearly half of the contests. More importantly, the star running back has had his role in the passing game increase lately. Over the past two weeks, Pollard has 10 receptions, totaling four or more in both matchups. Furthermore, the veteran has pulled in four or more receptions in four of the past seven games.

Seattle has struggled to slow down opposing running backs on the ground lately. Unfortunately, their pass defense against running backs hasn’t been much better. The Seahawks have surrendered the 11th-most receptions to running backs this year, giving up 5.3 per game. Furthermore, they have been awful lately. Seattle has given up 23 receptions to running backs over the past four weeks, surrendering 5.8 per contest. Pollard should have a massive performance Thursday night, both on the ground and in the air.

Zach Charbonnet Under 48.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Unfortunately, Kenneth Walker will likely miss his second consecutive game with an oblique injury. With the second-year running back out of the lineup, Charbonnet will make his second career start. The former UCLA star struggled on Thanksgiving against a talented San Francisco 49ers run defense, totaling 14 rushing attempts for 47 yards and 3.4 yards per attempt. Yet, that wasn’t surprising. The rookie has averaged only 3.2 yards per rushing attempt and 47 yards per game over the past two weeks despite being the featured running back.

More importantly, Charbonnet faces another elite run defense on Thursday night. The Cowboys have held running backs to the eighth-fewest rushing yards this season, giving up 76.4 per game. However, they have surrendered only four yards per rushing attempt to running backs since the bye week and fewer than 76 yards in 60% of those matchups. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have a less-than-ideal run-blocking matchup in the NFL in Week 13 (per Fantasy Points Data). The rookie running back is in for a long and frustrating night.

CeeDee Lamb to Score an Anytime Touchdown (-145)

Lamb started the year on fire, totaling 15 receptions on 17 targets for 220 receiving yards over the first two weeks. Yet, the former Oklahoma star had only one receiving touchdown over the first six weeks this season. However, he’s been on fire lately. Since the Cowboys’ impressive win in Week 6 over the Los Angeles Chargers, the superstar wide receiver has averaged 8.5 receptions on 11.5 targets for 118 receiving yards per game. More importantly, Lamb has been a touchdown machine since the bye week.

The superstar wide receiver has scored 85.7% of his touchdowns for the year over the past five weeks, totaling at least one score in all but one contest. Furthermore, he has found the end zone twice since the bye week. More importantly, the Seahawks have struggled to keep wide receivers out of the end zone. They have given up 11 receiving touchdowns to wide receivers this season, the eighth-most in the NFL. Furthermore, wide receivers scored at least one receiving touchdown against Seattle in four consecutive games.

Brandin Cooks Over 40.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

When the Cowboys traded for Cooks in the offseason, many had high hopes for the veteran wide receiver. Unfortunately, he started the year playing poorly. The former Oregon State star averaged only 21.8 receiving yards per game before the bye week, totaling fewer than 37 in every contest. However, Cooks has been on fire lately. Since the Week 7 bye, the veteran has averaged 68.6 receiving yards per game, totaling 42 or more in all but one matchup, including 72 or more in two of the past three.

Meanwhile, Seattle’s pass defense has been hot and cold in 2023. They rank around the league average in receiving yards surrendered to wide receivers. However, the Seahawks have been susceptible to giving up big plays. Wide receivers have had 140 or more yards in 54.6% of the games against Seattle this season, including two consecutive matchups. Cooks has been Dak Prescott’s go-to guy downfield lately. All the veteran wide receiver needs is one blown coverage target to hit the over on this prop bet.
