Two Talented Defensive Linemen – Scouting the Nation (2025 NFL Draft)
In this article, we’ll be looking at two talented defensive linemen. We’ll analyze their performances, strengths, and what sets them apart in the competition. Continue reading to discover which college football stars we’re learning about today,. Let’s dive into these two talented defensive linemen and see what sets them apart from the competition.
Sean Martin DL West Virginia
Teams covet size, length, and speed in defensive linemen, and Sean Martin is elite in all three areas. He can play as a 3-tech, 4i, or traditional defensive end. His length shows up on his long arm move, which led to many wins on tape. Martin’s closing burst is excellent, allowing him to get to the quarterback. His first step is fantastic, and he combines that with immense power to bullrush tackles.
Moreover, Martin’s first step also creates opportunities for him to shoot gaps, and then he has the speed to chase down quarterbacks. Expect Martin to run an unbelievable 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine with how fast he is on the field. Martin has so much upside and took a big jump in 2023. Another good year will lead Martin to really rise up draft boards.
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins DL Georgia
Due to a foot injury, Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins was sidelined from week two until the Florida game in week nine. When watching the Florida tape, Ingram-Dawkins stood out in such a way that I watched the rest of his film from 2023. Ingram-Dawkins’s traits for his size are rare, making him a player ready to take college football by storm next season. Notably, he can bend and threaten the tackle’s outside shoulder at 280 pounds.
Furthermore, Ingram-Dawkins can also set the edge at a high level, and he easily disengages at the point of attack. Additionally, his agility, movement skills, and loose hips are just rare for such a massive player. He is one of the most versatile defensive linemen in the country too.
More importantly, he can play anywhere from a 5-tech to head up on the center and be productive at every spot. Georgia has several first-round defenders every year, and Ingram-Dawkins has the talent to reach that status in a full season next Fall.
