USFL 2022 – Tampa Bay Bandits

Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator: Todd Haley and Bob Saunders

Haley is a solid coach that has had some high-powered offenses and is a respected offensive mind in football.  We should expect to see him keying in on his players’ strengths along with stretching the field and going for those beloved chunk plays.  I think we see some aggressive play calling with this team.

Roster

Quarterback:  Jordan Ta’amu

Jordan was surprisingly not the first quarterback taken in the draft and the Bandits were overjoyed to get him with the second pick. Jordan could very well put up the best quarterback numbers in the league and make a run for the MVP of the league. He is a very athletic quarterback so he is dangerous both through the air and on the ground. He will be very fun to watch in this offense and I think he shines. 

Running Backs: BJ Emmons and Juwan Washinton

Both guys are good pass catchers. Emmons is an excellent pass blocker which is why they selected him as the first overall running back in the draft. The Bandits are going to pass a lot so there could be plenty of receptions up for grabs in this backfield. Don’t expect a ton of rushing volume for these guys. 

Wide Receivers: Derrick Willies, Derrick Dillon, Jordan Lasley, John Franklin III, Rashard Davis, Keith Memphery, and Vinny Papale

The Bandits have a lot of wide receivers on their roster and if you haven’t figured out by now that they want to pass the ball you should know now. They released their first wide receiver pick which will make way for Willies to be the easy top option here and a top wide receiver in the league. Dillon and Lasley will be the other two guys on the field the most as the Bandits will run a lot of three wide receiver sets. Franklin will be used more as a gadget-type player as he is a very versatile athlete. This will be a fun wideout group to target in fantasy.

Tight End: De’Quan Hampton

Hampton will be a big-bodied red zone target who is more of a receiving tight end than a blocking one.  What a surprise, the Bandits want pass catchers.
