Week 2 — Top 12 QB/TE Fantasy Football Rankings and Tiers
Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books and we have a lot to talk about heading into week 2. It’s only been a week but these rankings are going to change drastically due to the new information teams have given us. Along with my top 12 rankings, I’ll give you my must-start quarterback and tight end for week 2 of the fantasy football season.

Quarterback – Start Of The Week
Deshaun Watson @ PIT
The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a quarterback back outside the top 12 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Deshaun Watson is my start of the week. In what should be a bounce-back season, Watson scored 20.7 points in his first game back despite having a rough passing game.
Going forward, this seems close to Watson’s floor. Watson had a game script that didn’t force him to pass the ball much, and Amari Cooper was hurt for most of the game. Now that we know Watson still has phenomenal rushing upside, he still has to be a top-10 quarterback.
In week two, Watson should have a much more competitive game script, allowing him to pass the ball more. Currently, the Browns are one-point underdogs according to OddsShark, which indicates that they’ll be trailing for some of the game, benefiting Watson. After what we saw last week with Watson’s rushing upside, I can’t put him outside my top 10 quarterbacks for week two.
Week 2 – Tight End Rankings
Not Applicable: Dallas Goedert, T.J. Hockenson
Tier 1
1. Travis Kelce @ JAX
Tier 2
2. Mark Andrews @ CIN
3. George Kittle @ LAR
4. Darren Waller @ ARI
Tier 3
5. Evan Engram vs. KC
6. David Njoku @ PIT
Tier 4
7. Pat Freiermuth vs. CLE
8. Tyler Higbee vs. SF
9. Hunter Henry vs. MIA
Tier 5
10. Sam LaPorta vs. SEA
11. Dalton Kincaid vs. LV
12. Dalton Schultz vs. IND
Tight End – Start Of The Week
Tyler Higbee vs. SF
I expected a big game from Tyler Higbee in week one, but Puka Nuka took over instead, scoring 21.9 fantasy points. However, I saw a lot of positive things that will benefit Higbee going forward. The main takeaway is that Matthew Stafford looked great, and the Rams offense looks much better than expected.
Higbee had a solid week one with 7.9 points, even if he wasn’t the star. I’m not expecting a sudden fall-off from Nuka, but Higbee has the upside to have a monster game against the 49ers. Currently, the Rams are four-point underdogs, favoring Higbee due to their game script’s increased passing volume. Don’t be surprised if Higbee has a big week while the Rams play catch-up with the 49ers
