Week 2 was another underwhelming performance by many top-tier fantasy football quarterbacks. Names like Patrick Mahomes, Anthony Richardson, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, and C.J. Stroud are a few that come to mind. Let’s hope that Week 3 will bring some elite performances. Here you will find my top 12 Fantasy Football QB rankings and tiers for Week 3. Each week, I’ll separate them into tiers along with one “Start of the Week.”

Week 3 Fantasy Football QB Rankings: Start of the Week

Joe Burrow vs. Washington Commanders

If you have been reading this column for the past few weeks, you know that I like to pick players playing in games with a high projected over/under. This game between the Bengals and the Commanders has one of the highest implied over/under totals for the week (48.5).

Burrow got off to a horrendous start in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. He finished with 8.1 fantasy points and was the QB29 for the week. This past week against a tough Kansas City Chiefs defense on the road, Burrow performed much better with 258 passing yards and two touchdowns. Ultimately, he finished as the QB10 with 17.2 fantasy points. Keep in mind, that the Bengals have been without receiver Tee Higgins and playing with Ja’Marr Chase who is probably not yet fully in game shape.

Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers torched the Commanders secondary in Week 1 with 289 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Commanders secondary even managed to make Giants quarterback Daniel Jones look adequate last week, by allowing two passing touchdowns. I expect this week to be a “get right week” for Joe Burrow and receiving weapons.
