Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week
Rhamondre Stevenson vs. NO
The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a running back outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Although I don’t love this player, Rhamondre Stevenson gives you the most upside in this range. If you need an RB2, I would start Stevenson against the New Orleans Saints.
So far this year, Stevenson has looked extremely disappointing, averaging a meager 10.8 PPG. However, the running back position is gross this year, and I don’t even love starting any guy outside the top 15. That said, Stevenson has the most potential to turn things around.
His matchup this week is just average going up against the Saints. So far this year, the Saints are giving up 18.33 PPG to running backs, which is 14th in the NFL. This likely won’t be a high-scoring game, but currently, the Patriots are 1.5-point favorites, according to Odds Shark. This will allow them to run the ball and target Stevenson close to the line of scrimmage.
Stevenson is still the lead back, as he saw 35 snaps compared to Ezekiel Elliott at 22 last week. The bottom line is Stevenson has the talent, and there’s a chance he can break out against the Saints.
