2022-2023 NFL Futures Odds Bets

2022-nfl-futures-bets

This has to be one of my favorite times of the NFL season. Blockbuster trades are being completed. High-priced vets are being cut at a surprising rate and Twitter is a madhouse of speculation. I just can’t get enough and eat up every minute of it.

Without knowing anything about roster makeup for the 32 NFL teams, let’s take some fun blind dart throws on a few NFL Futures bets and see what kind of odds we can get. I’m going to pick a few of the bets that I think are either very interesting or slam dunks. Let’s dig right in with 2022-2023 NFL Futures Odds Bets.

Division Champions

AFC West

The Broncos just pulled off a blockbuster trade to pull in Russell Wilson. With this addition, their offense looks poised for a breakout campaign in 2022. Their defense was solid last season, and even with Wilson on the roster, will have an approximate $26M in cap space to work with. If they can add a few more pieces this offseason, they will easily put the Chiefs on notice for the AFC West. I love their +275 odds on BetMGM and will be putting down a few dollars on them to take the division.

NFC South

Let’s next take a trip down to the NFC South, where it’s an absolute crapshoot now with Tom Brady leaving. The Buccaneers probably still have the best roster, but without knowing who is going to be taking over behind center I have to think the division is still up in the air. I’m not fully in love with the Saints, but they have a solid roster and are in a very similar situation as the Bucs. I like their +260 odds on DraftKings and will put a few dollars down on them.

NFC West

The NFC West is a very interesting division to look at. The Rams of course are the favorite with average odds of +150, but this division was very competitive all season and is very much up in the air. The 49ers are currently sitting at +230 on BetMGM and the Cardinals are +350 on PointsBet. I think both of those are solid bets with good returns. If I had to pick one, I would probably go with the 49ers, but why go with one when you can go with both!

NFC East

Finally, let’s swing back over to the NFC East where the Eagles are at +400 on Caesars to take the division. Are you kidding me?! They are +400?! Everyone should SMASH that bet. The Cowboys are sitting as the favorite, but have not shown me anything to think they are the clear-cut leaders of this division. The Eagles have an improving roster, a Coach who was in the running for Coach of the year, three first-round draft picks, and over $20M in cap space. Out of all these Division Champion future bets, this is the one that everyone should be taking. Please BetUS, just take my money!

Conference Champions

NFC

Both AFC and NFC Conference champions have some great odds for future bets. Let’s start off in the NFC where you have your clear-cut favorites with the Rams (+450) and the Packers (+300). However, in today’s NFL where there is an incredible competitive balance, any team (other than the Jaguars) could go on a run to the Super Bowl. Let’s start with the Eagles at +2200 on BetUS. For the reasons stated above, I think the Eagles could be this year’s Bengals and easily go on a run. If we’re going with some of the crazy odds, I think you can also look at the Cardinals with +1200 on FanDuel. If you want a bit safer odds, you can go with the 49ers with +600 on either FanDuel or BetMGM. However, for my money, I’m going with the crazy returns of that +2200 on the Eagles.

AFC

In the AFC you also have the clear-cut favorites of the Bills at +400 and the Chiefs at +450. Both of these are really good odds with great returns, even with both of them being clear-cut favorites to win the AFC. Some of the more interesting bets are with the Titans at +1300 on FanDuel. I wouldn’t put my money on the Titans, just because Derrick Henry isn’t getting any younger and we all saw what happened to them when it was all put on Ryan Tannehill last season. The Bengals at +1000 on DraftKings is a great bet. Like I mentioned before with the division winners, the Bengals have a solid roster and should only get better with the cap space they have to beef up that offensive line. At +700 on FanDuel, the Broncos are another solid pick with soon-to-be new starting quarterback Russell Wilson at the helm. The Broncos were a quarterback away from being a playoff team last season. Does the Wilson acquisition put them over the hump? I tend to think no, but the Rams showed last season that sometimes all you need is that quarterback. For my money, I’m putting down some cash on the Bills (I’m a Bills fan) and the Bengals.

NFL MVP

This is where things are getting a little bit interesting as the odds are just great for just about everyone. You can find +800 for Josh Allen (PointsBet), Aaron Rodgers (DraftKings & FanDuel), and +750 for Patrick Mahomes (DraftKings). I honestly think it’s a toss-up between those three and anywhere you put your money on those three would be a decent bet.

Looking at some better odds, another solid three would be Joe Burrow (+1200) on DraftKings, Russell Wilson (+1500) on PointsBet, or Matthew Stafford (+1600) on DraftKings. However, I find the Lamar Jackson odds the super sexy bet of the bunch with him currently at +2800 on DraftKings. He had a down year last year, as the whole Ravens offense seemed to get injured, himself included. However, he’s just a few short years removed from winning the MVP and is due for a decent bounce-back year. If you want to make a solid bet, throw a few bones down on Jackson.

Super Bowl Winner

Now onto the biggest bet of them all and what everyone’s been waiting for. Being the Bills fan that I am, I of course love taking the Bills at +750 on BetMGM, but there are some much better odds across the board. I could look at the Rams to repeat (+1100) on FanDuel, but I don’t really think they have it in them. I think some might jump on the chance to throw their money down on the Broncos at +1800 on BetMGM, but I think you might as well just burn your money. Bengals are a pretty solid choice with their odds being +2200 on FanDuel. I think they are going to have a hard time getting back to the Super Bowl again in 2022, but they have the talent and should be adding to that talent and at +2200 it would be a very nice payday.

The 49ers would be a decent play at +1400 on BetMGM and would have a solid chance to go all the way. If you want to take a swing at the fences, why not try your luck with the Eagles at +4000 on BetUS. However, where I am going to put my money is with the Packers at +1400 on BetMGM. Aaron Rodgers hasn’t exactly been the most trustworthy place to put my money the last few years in the postseason, but this might be a good year for them to put it all together.

So there you have it. It feels blasphemous but I’m betting on the Packers to win it all. Come at me with your best bets on Twitter @OBryanBren and we can debate what you think.
