5 2024 NFL Draft Risers: Malachi Corley Goes OFF for Western Kentucky

After an intense Week 6 of college football matchups, we are beginning to enter the best weeks for scouting players for the NFL Draft. Some of the best games and toughest tests for prospects will tell us a lot of what we need to know about these players. Here are the five players that stood out and rising up the 2024 NFL Draft rankings.

Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley is a Confirmed STUD

The hype is continuing to grow week after week for Corley, now even more so after a monster week against Louisiana Tech. He put the 2024 class of wide receivers on notice with a stat line of eight receptions for 207 yards and three touchdowns on the day. While he won’t blow you away with his size, he can beat you in many ways. Whether it’s his speed and acceleration to take the top off of the defense or his lethal catch and run ability, Corley is quickly becoming a favorite receiver for the next NFL Draft.

Texas RB Jonathan Brooks Could be RB1

None of the top running backs heading into the season want to solidify themselves as the best running back in the 2024 NFL Draft, but a redshirt sophomore has made his case as the best back in the class. Brooks has been nothing short of fantastic this season, and despite the loss in the Red River Showdown, he was a major bright spot again for the Longhorns on offense. He has the ideal frame to carry the workload of an NFL running game and is backing it up with what he’s doing so far this season. Texas has produced another top-tier running back.

North Carolina QB Drake Maye Taking QB1 Title

Talk about Caleb Williams all you want, but Maye has closed that gap even tighter this season. This debate will be an ongoing topic for the next six months — Willimas or Maye? Either way, we are seeing two franchise NFL quarterbacks in the making and could be the No.1 and 2 picks in the NFL Draft. Maye is beginning to separate himself with his pocket awareness, excellent footwork, and understanding of where the rush is coming from. Combine that with his strong arm and pinpoint accuracy, and he’s the complete package.

LSU DB Major Burns has a MAJOR Day

As a redshirt junior, Burns is quietly putting together a solid year, looking his best in run support from the strong safety position. But on Saturday, he came up clutch as Missouri began their drive to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. He displayed his ability to read the quarterback’s eyes and drive on the ball, looking like a wide receiver with how strong his ball skills can be. He took it 17 yards to the end zone to secure the win for LSU. With questions about the overall talent of the DBs in the 2024 NFL Draft, Burns could be a name we hear more from the safety class.

Old Dominion LB Jason Henderson is a Tackling Machine

You won’t hear a lot of talks about Old Dominion for NFL Draft prospects, but Henderson will be someone we start hearing more and more leading up to the NFL Draft. Last season, he totaled 179 tackles, and this year he’s already at 93 through five games, setting Old Dominion’s career tackle record as a junior. As the quarterback of the defense, Henderson has a tremendous understanding of what offenses are bringing and is always around the ball. He will be one of the biggest risers of the linebackers for the upcoming draft.
