5 2024 NFL Draft Risers: RB Ray Davis Dominates vs. Florida

5 2024 NFL Draft Risers: RB Ray Davis Dominates vs. Florida

With Week 5 of the college football season in the books, new prospects are starting to see a rise in stock for 2024 NFL Draft prospects. After an exciting week of football, it’s time to head back to the tape to see who’s rising up the rankings. Here are the five players who stood out this week and are adding to their NFL Draft stock.

Kentucky RB Ray Davis Breaking Out

Davis ran all over the Florida Gators’ defense on Saturday, carrying the Wildcats to a dominating victory to keep their undefeated season going. He had 26 carries for 280 yards and scored three touchdowns, putting the rest of the running back class on notice. With a lot of movement in the rankings this week, if Davis can continue to put up strong numbers, he’ll be in the conversation for a late day two/early day three selection in the NFL Draft.

Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. Continues to Dominate

Quarterbacks have been all the rave for the 2024 NFL Draft class. With the likes of Caleb Williams and Shedeur Sanders getting the spotlight, Penix is beginning to be a name we hear more and more with the year he’s been having. After another solid week, Penix added to his league-leading totals with 363 yards and completed 30 of his 40 passes. He’s having a Heisman-winning type of season and will be a first-round pick if he continues his dominance.

LSU WR Malik Nabers has Top 10 Upside

The top of the wide receiver class is loaded with talent, but one (besides Marvin Harrison Jr.) has stood out above the rest. Nabers has been elite against strong opponents this year, and this week was more of the same. He had his third straight game with more than 100 yards, putting his season total at 625 with five touchdowns through five games. Any team inside the top five will be itching to grab Harrison Jr., but another team inside the top ten will be just as satisfied snagging Nabers.

Alabama EDGE Dallas Turner Rising to the Top

The 2024 NFL Draft class of defensive linemen is one of the strongest positions this year. Most of the talks have been about Florida State’s Jared Verse, but Turner is pushing the envelope to be the best pass rusher in the class. He had his third straight game with a sack, putting his season total at 5.5. Turner plays as a 3-4 OLB who is best when he’s rushing the passer, but he’s also been asked to contribute in pass coverage. His versatility in each facet of the defense will get his name called early in the first round.

Iowa DB Cooper DeJean Makes His Case for DB1

The search for the clearcut DB1 is still a question, but DeJean is becoming the favorite. He got his first interception of the year this past weekend, coming when Iowa needed it the most. His instincts and ability to read the quarterback are next-level compared to the rest of this class. Not only that, he also returned a punt for a 70-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter with the game tied. DeJean proved this weekend that he should be the DB1 in 2024.
