How many games he will miss is still to be determined, but there is a suspension looming. Kamara is meeting with Roger Goodell today to discuss the incident and the potential consequences. What we know about this situation is that, most recently, Kamara pleaded no contest to the charges after his involvement in a fight at a Las Vegas resort during the 2022 Pro Bowl. He has already struck a deal with the league to expedite the resolution. He was given 30 hours of community service and forced to pay for the victim’s medical bills to the tune of $105,196.17.
We were all expecting Kamara to miss some time this year, but it was purely a guess as to how much. One thing that Kamara does have going for him is that the charges were dropped to a misdemeanor, so a less severe charge could equate to a less severe suspension length. I would plan to be without Kamara for the first month of the season until further news breaks out. Kamara is currently going as the RB26 off the board at pick 64 according to our latest PPR Fantasy Football Rankings. When he does return, he’ll be competing with Jamaal Williams and 3rd-round rookie Kendre Miller for touches.
Stylistically, Williams profiles as the bruiser back, while Kamara is better suited for the pass-catching role. Miller figures to spell both of them as he becomes more acclimated to the offense. It will be quite interesting to see how this running back room shakes out during training camp and the preseason, provided Kamara can still practice and play with the team.
