Fantasy Football Outlook: Entering his eighth season in the NFL, Hooper is coming off a fairly unproductive 2022 season in Tennessee. The Raiders will be the fourth NFL team that he’s played for, and he really hasn’t been fantasy football relevant since 2019 in Atlanta. However, he does have two TE1 seasons under his belt, both of which came with the Falcons. There, he finished as the TE6 in PPR scoring in both 2018 and 2019 but hasn’t done much of anything since.

With Derek Carr heading to New Orleans and Jimmy Garoppolo now in Vegas, things will be vastly different in 2023. Additionally, Darren Waller has been lost to the Giants in free agency. This really just leaves Hunter Renfrow and recently added wide receiver, Jakobi Meyers. Former first-round pick OJ Howard was also added in free agency this year, but the TE1 spot is wide open without Waller. Not to mention, Foster Moreau is also no longer a Raider.

For fantasy football purposes, Hooper won’t be much more than a waiver wire pick up in redraft leagues. Don’t go out of your way to acquire him in dynasty leagues either. However, if you do have him, he’s worth holding on to. You might consider putting him on the trading block if there’s someone out there who might believe in a comeback for Hooper. Especially if you’re in a TE-Premium league. All that being said, the 28-year-old will certainly have an opportunity to prove himself this year.
