Dak Prescott 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

<a rel=

The quarterback position can make or break your fantasy football team. The Dallas Cowboys found their star Quarterback in Dak Prescott after the Tony Romo era ended. This year, does he turn the ball over less? The pressure is rising and training camp woes are building up. As the iconic Aaron Rodgers once said and turned into the gif people can’t stop quoting; “R-E-L-A-X”.

NFL Training Camp is a time for all quarks to work out. He is only going to get better and the season works heavily in his favor. In our 2023 Fantasy Football Draft Rankings, he is the 10th-ranked quarterback. With a healthy body, consistent play calling, and weapons on the field, he can maintain or even eclipse it. That may be a lot to ask for with last season’s thumb injury, Ezekiel Elliott‘s departure, and Mike McCarthy wanting to run the ball. On the other hand, the possibility of it not being too much to ask for is easily obtainable.

Fantasy Football Outlook for 2023

Mike McCarthy, as I stated previously, has taken over play calling and we all know he loves to run the ball. That leaves Prescott to control the game tempo and work around the field. The pressure will not be on him to do everything on the field and put his body on the line. Even with his injuries last season, he tossed for 23 touchdowns and rushed for 112 yards. Additionally, he has a massive, explosive weapon that will only get better in CeeDee Lamb entering his fourth season in the league. Needless to say, the connection between him and Lamb was always beautiful last season.

Recently, the Dallas Cowboys brought in a brand-new toy in Brandin Cooks that will also help with Prescott’s pressure. Cook is a veteran who knows the game inside and out. I am not trying to compare Cooks to T.Y. Hilton but the veteran’s presence can help Prescott outside and inside the field. If Cooks can obtain 699 yards from the Quarterback carousel in Houston, then he can certainly earn more yards from Prescott.

The tight end position may seem scary on paper but there is life to it. Peyton Hendershot and Jake Ferguson are both entering their second season. Both players showed upside. Remember the Thanksgiving game against the New York Giants last season? It was a tight end game with Ferguson gaining over 50 yards and Hendershot rushing for a touchdown. Dalton Schultz has departed which leaves room for both second-year guys to help Prescott.

Prescott has all the tools in the arsenal to do wonders on the field. This team is young and has veteran experience which makes him feel comfortable. The pressure is on him but just remember as Henry Kissinger once said; “A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure”.

Dynasty Football Outlook

This is where things get interesting for Prescott. You may be scared away by the playcalling and injury history. If you are afraid of him, he can be an excellent trade value piece to obtain what you need. If you want to keep him, you can reap the rewards. At the very least, he is easily a high-risk, high-reward asset this season. As for long-term dynasty outlook, he should be a starter in the NFL for years to come, which is quite valuable in itself.
