Dynasty Fantasy Football Sells: Tight Ends

The football landscape is forever changing. As dynasty managers, we need to keep on top of these changes, whether it be players changing teams, coaches changing teams, or players getting older. With this in mind, here are players at the tight end position that I feel managers should consider moving on from this offseason. Let’s get right to it with Dynasty Fantasy Football Sells: Tight Ends.

Travis Kelce

Now, before you come at me with pitchforks, hear me out! Kelce is 32 years old, managers have to wonder when the decline will come.  Kelce will likely be contending to finish as the number one tight end in fantasy football again, however, his age is starting to become a concern. In a TE-Premium league, he still holds immense value. I believe managers should be looking at younger options. Pat Freiermuth plus picks would be a move I would be happy to make.

Dalton Schultz

Cowboys tight end, Dalton Schultz enjoyed a fantastic breakout campaign last season. Schultz finished as the number three ranked tight end, however, he is about to hit free agency. Whilst many would consider him a hold, I believe this is a sell-high opportunity for Schultz managers. He is only 25, so there is a chance he is a bonafide star for years to come. Regardless of his age and the season he has just had, his contractual situation does need to be taken into account. The Cowboys could franchise tag him and look to give him a contract next season. His situation is something managers must keep an eye on, though.

Zach Ertz

Cardinals tight end, Zach Ertz had a good season in 2021. Ertz finished as the number five ranked tight end, however, he is in a similar situation to Travis Kelce in regards to his age. One more recent concern is the situation between quarterback, Kyler Murray, and the Arizona Cardinals. A lot is going on between the two sides, and until the situation is resolved and Murray’s future is clearer, Ertz becomes a player I want to move on from.

Other tight ends to consider: Rob Gronkowski, Mike Gesicki, and Evan Engram.
