Dynasty Rookie Profile: Jameson Williams

One of my favorite wide receivers out of this 2022 rookie class has got to be Jameson Williams out of Alabama. Williams was with Ohio State for his first two years of college, where he rarely saw the field. He was active in 10 total games in those two seasons, but for whatever reason, he just didn’t get much playing time. During those 10 games, he caught 15 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. However, he transferred to Alabama for his junior year, where he immediately saw the field and did great.

In 15 games at Alabama, Williams caught 79 balls for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns. You’re talking about arguably the best football school in the country and immediately producing as the best wide receiver on the team, averaging 100+ receiving yards and a touchdown per game. He also set the school record with four receiving touchdowns of 75+ yards in a single season. Williams has the ability to rip big plays off at any time, and that’s one of the traits I love about him.

Williams is explosive and is a home run threat when he gets the ball. He can stop and start very well and is excellent at creating his own separation. In my opinion, he creates separation better than any wideout in this class. He’s got that top-end speed that you love to see when he gets in the open field. He’s a bit raw as a prospect, but with some more experience under his belt, I think he’ll end up being one of the best wide receivers from this class when it’s all said and done.
