Fantasy Football Outlook – Garrrett Wilson to the Jets

Garrett Wilson

New York Jets: Round 1 / Pick 10

I love this move for the Jets. All offseason, the Jets were in on veteran wide receivers. They had a deal in place for Tyreek Hill and were in on Deebo Samuel till the end. This move gives the Jets a dynamic playmaker to help Zach Wilson out, and grow with Elijah Moore.

Fantasy Football Outlook

From a redraft perspective, I would not go too crazy right away for Wilson. I can see him being eased into the offense, and showing fantasy value halfway through the season. Elijah Moore didn’t break out until the second half, and I can see a similar scenario here.

The Jets currently have Elijah Moore, Braxton Berrios, and Corey Davis outside of Wilson. The possibility is there that he could not see a lot of targets early on. He currently is going 104 in ADP on NFC, and I think that is right where he should be. I could see him being an early WR3/4 with the ceiling of a WR2 in his rookie season.

Last year Moore and Davis missed time to injury, which would bring a lot more targets Wilson’s way, and the Jets did not draft another WR.

Dynasty Outlook

Wilson’s dynasty perspective is a lot higher than redraft. Corey Davis could be cut at the end of the season if he does not produce as they expected. If this occurs, Wilson and Moore become the WR1 and WR2 on the team.

Wilson should be a top 3 or top 5 pick in all rookie redrafts, and I can see Mike Lafleur being creative with Wilson as he was Braxton Berrios last season. Wilson is extremely athletic and was the top WR on the Jets draft board. He will be a cornerstone for this franchise.
