Fantasy-Football-Trade-Deadline-Targets-2023

Trade deadlines are approaching for fantasy football leagues, and now is the time to be active and send out trade offers. In this article, I’ll be breaking down some of the top players you should trade for before the trade deadline in your fantasy leagues. These players are either trending up or have a solid strength of schedule moving forward.

You could have a lot of depth in one position making now the time to try and flip one of them for a position of need. Some players have gotten off to slow starts making now a prime opportunity to trade. If your fantasy football league permits IR slots, take advantage and stash some injured players. Also, be sure to use your FAAB. Don’t be the manager who ends the year with all of their FAAB remaining.

Keep in mind too dynasty leagues as now is the time to realize if you should dump and trade off your top assets or trade to win now. Attempt for those 2024 draft picks or rookie players.

Fantasy Football Trade Deadline Targets

D’Andre Swift, RB, Philaelphia Eagles

D’Andre Swift could be a prime trade target right now. 10 out of his last five games he topped out at 62 yards rushing. He only has two games over 100 yards rushing. Against the Jets in Week 6, he saw 10 targets and has only seen 8 targets in the last three games. Overall, these are the talking points to your league manager who rosters Swift. He is on a bye right now but has a golden playoff schedule seeing the Giants and Cardinals. Don’t be afraid to make some offers for Swift before your trade deadline.

Javonte Williams, RB, Denver Broncos

A running back on the rise is Javonte Williams. Per Sleeper, Williams did not see a snap share over 50% until Week 7. In his last two games, he has seen 15 and 27 rushes. He rushed for 82 and 85 yards while having three receptions each game. Coming off a bye week, the Broncos travel to Buffalo. The Broncos are on a two-game win streak, and Williams is looking healthier and taking back over this backfield.

Kyren Williams, RB, Los Angeles Rams

With the Rams on a bye now in Week 10, it seems as if Kyren Williams will return in Week 12 for the Rams. Williams was off to a great start before getting hurt, and now they could either be sitting on your waivers in shallow leagues or someone’s IR slot. In Week 4 he rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns against the Colts, and in Week 6 against the Cardinals, he rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown before getting injured. Upon his return, expect Williams to take back over the starting role making him a great trade and stash option right now.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Cam Akers was traded to the Vikings during the first half of the season and now is out for the season with a torn Achilles. Alexander Mattison’s hold on the starting job seemed questionable. However, against the Falcons he rushed 16 times for 44 yards and caught two receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown. Moving forward, he should continue to see the full reps at starters. In back-to-back weeks he has seen 16 rushes, and that should not decrease as a result of a backfield split.

Rachaad White, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Much talk was going on about Rachaad White potentially losing his starting role all season. However, as of the last three weeks that is off the table. White has been very active in the passing game and saw 20 rushes last week alone. Tampa Bay is getting White involved in the offense and he could be a very under-the-radar trade target in your league, especially in PPR formats.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals

One of my favorite trade targets right now is Marquise Brown. Kyler Murray is returning and Brown has the chance to put up WR2 or higher numbers with him. Brown is already seeing high target shares each week. In Week 1 he put up a season-low five targets. In two weeks he saw seven targets and there were six games where he saw eight or more targets. Getting his QB1 back is going to be a big time for his fantasy football value.

Tank Dell, WR, Houston Texans

CJ Stroud has broken out and Tank Dell is a big help. Nico Collins is set to miss Week 10 which could set up Dell for a huge game. Against the Buccaneers, he caught six of 11 targets for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Dell was a personal request from Stroud during the draft and these two could be a big combo down the line making me want to acquire Dell wherever I can. He makes for a low-end WR2/Flex play and has a ceiling to go even higher.

Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

While he only has two touchdowns this season, Chris Olave has seen big target shares all season. Except for Weeks 4 and 5, he has seen 8 or more targets in each game. Notably, he saw 15 targets alone in Week 7.

Needless to say, Olave is a touchdown away each game from a huge fantasy football performance. The Saints have been mixing and matching with Taysom Hill recently, but Olave has been a secure WR2 with WR1 upside in the second half of the season. Now is a good time to attempt to trade for him.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks

While his stats early on have not been great and he has two other wide receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has seen an uptick in volume recently. Smith-Njigba has scored a touchdown in two of his last three games and has seen seven targets (his season high) in two of his last three games. Can the Ohio State rookie receiver follow Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave as breakouts? It’s trending up and Smith-Njigba is someone who wants to stash for that breakout.

Trey McBride, TE, Arizona Cardinals

With the return of Kyler Murray, another pass catcher that will see an uptick in volume is Trey McBride. McBride broke out in Week 8 against the Ravens catching 10 of 14 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown. Now with the return of Murray, McBride could take that extra step this season in a breakout and is a startable tight end in all formats.
