Ja’Marr Chase 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Fantasy Football Outlook
Another season, another chance for Ja’Marr Chase to blow us all away. Don’t let it get you down that Chase finished as WR12 last season in .5 point PPR scoring; the man missed four full games due to injury. That is four games missed, and STILL the WR12. He started the 2022 season as WR4 the first week and had two WR1 finishes throughout the season. Do not overthink this speedster tied to quarterback Joe Burrow.
Let’s get into Chase’s potential fantasy football outlook for the upcoming NFL season.
2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
What is the outlook for Chase this season, you ask? Well, Bob, it’s good. Last season Chase had over 1,000 receiving yards on 134 targets, with the yardage only being down from his rookie season due to the games he missed because of his hip injury. He was on a 17-game pace of almost 1,500 receiving yards, which would have put him up with AJ Brown, who had the fourth most yards that year. Needless to say, if Chase stays healthy, there is nothing to say that he won’t be able to achieve those numbers and more this season.
When it comes to scoring plays, Chase is the guy for Burrow. Chase has the third most red zone targets among wide receivers, which was almost 28% of total team pass attempts in the red zone. He is just that good. Additionally, if you have Chase on your team, it is an easy plug-and-play with the possibility of owning the WR1 every week. However, the only potential negative when it comes to Chase is the health of Burrow’s calf. But, barring medical disaster there, all should be well. Currently, we are ranking Ja’Marr Chase as the WR2 for the 2023 season.
Dynasty Football Outlook
If you managed to snag Chase in your Dynasty league rookie drafts, congratulations. Chase should be the cornerstone of a Dynasty squad if you were lucky enough to get him.
At age 23 (!), Chase has many, many more years ahead of him of incredible value. Of the top 20 wide receivers in receiving yards in 2022, only Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson were younger than Chase. And we are only talking by months. Perhaps you are pondering Justin Jefferson or Chase as the first pick in a dynasty startup? Honestly, I would not hate you for either, but the fact that Chase has Joe Burrow over Kirk Cousins (and then insert quarterback name here) might be enough to break the tie for me. Needless to say, Chase’s Dynasty outlook is extremely good.
