Mecole Hardman Signs With The Jets – Fantasy Outlook

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the New York Jets are signing veteran wide receiver Mecole Hardman to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Football Outlook: The Jets have undergone massive changes at the wide receiver position this offseason. Last week they signed Allen Lazard to a four-year deal worth $44 million. More importantly, New York traded Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns shortly after signing Hardman.

Last year, the former Georgia wide receiver had 25 receptions on 34 targets for 297 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He also had two rushing touchdowns on only four attempts in 2022. However, it’s no surprise the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t re-sign Hardman.

The Chiefs have high expectations for Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore next year. Therefore, they had no interest in keeping Hardman on the roster. However, the former Bulldog will have a meaningful role on the Jets.

Hopefully, the Aaron Rodgers deal won’t fall apart, and the future Hall of Famer will join the Jets in the coming weeks. While Garrett Wilson and Lazard will be the starting wide receivers, Hardman will still have a meaningful role as an NFL wide receiver. However, the former Chief likely won’t see enough targets to make him a weekly starter for fantasy players.
