Monday Night Football Player Prop Bets – Eagles vs. Chiefs

Monday-Night-Football-Player-Prop-Bets-Eagles-vs-Chiefs

Welcome back to Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets.

Week 11 of the 2023 NFL regular season is nearly in the books. Hopefully, bettors came away with more money in their pockets than they started the week with. However, the grind never stops. So, let’s not waste any time and get down to business with some player prop bets.

Monday night we have a Super Bowl LVII rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite prop bets for Monday’s game.

All props and odds are from DraftKings.

Patrick Mahomes Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-215)

While Mahomes might not be having a superstar-level season, the former Texas Tech star has been excellent. He has averaged 1.9 passing touchdowns per game this year, totaling two or more in 67% of the matchups. More importantly, Mahomes has played well lately. Before the team’s Week 10 bye, the star quarterback had two passing touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins. He also had four passing scores in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers, a season-high. While the superstar hasn’t had to be Superman this season, Mahomes will need to have a massive performance on Monday night.

The Eagles have no trouble putting up points on offense. More importantly, their defense has struggled to slow down opposing passing attacks. Philadelphia has given up the second-most passing touchdowns in 2023, surrendering 2.1 per game. Furthermore, quarterbacks have had three or more passing touchdowns against the Eagles in nearly half of the games this season. Sam Howell (four) and Dak Prescott (three) have had their way with Philadelphia’s secondary over the team’s past two games. Expect Mahomes to keep that trend going.

Jalen Hurts to Score an Anytime Touchdown (+130)

Despite playing through a knee injury, Hurts has been a force in the run game. He has seven rushing touchdowns this year, the fourth-most in the NFL and first among quarterbacks. More importantly, the superstar has accounted for 58.3% of the Eagles’ rushing touchdowns this season after accounting for 40.1% in 2022. Hurts has consistently found the end zone, scoring a rushing touchdown in four of the past five games and six of nine contests this year. Furthermore, the superstar quarterback uses his legs more against elite competition.

Kansas City is one of eight teams not to surrender a rushing touchdown to a quarterback this season. However, they have struggled with mobile quarterbacks. In the two matchups against Russell Wilson, the Chiefs gave up at least 30 rushing yards in both contests on only six attempts per game. Furthermore, Justin Fields had 11 rushing attempts for 47 yards earlier in the year against Kansas City. Whether you call it the Brotherly Shove or the Tush Push, expect Hurts to find the end zone at least once in this contest.

Rashee Rice Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Many had high hopes for Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney entering the season. However, Rice has been the team’s top wide receiver. The rookie is coming off a season-low 17 receiving yards in the Week 9 matchup in Germany, seeing only two targets. However, he has averaged 42 receiving yards per game this year. Furthermore, Rice has averaged 47 receiving yards per game since Week 3, totaling 56 or more in three straight contests before the dud performance overseas.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs always have played well following their bye week under Andy Reid. More importantly, the matchup is excellent for the former SMU star. The Eagles have given up the third-most receiving yards to wide receivers, surrendering 199.9 per game. They have allowed wide receivers to have 205 or more receiving yards in over half the games this season, including three straight before their bye week. Furthermore, Philadelphia has struggled against slot wide receivers. Therefore, Rice is prime for a post-bye breakout performance.

D’Andre Swift Over 13.5 Rushing Attempts (-110)

Everyone lost their mind when Swift had only one rushing attempt in Week 1. However, the former Georgia star has been outstanding since then. He has averaged 16.8 rushing attempts per game since opening weekend, totaling at least 14 attempts in all but one contest, including three straight before the Week 10 bye. Furthermore, the veteran is eighth in the NFL with 135 rushing attempts despite splitting work with Jalen Hurts and Kenneth Gainwell. More importantly, the matchup is appealing for Swift.

Since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback, all the media attention has been on the offense. However, their defense has played outstanding this year. However, Kansas City has struggled to slow down opposing running backs lately. Over their past four matchups, running backs have averaged 22.3 attempts for 105.5 yards per game and 4.7 yards per attempt against the Chiefs. Furthermore, they had at least 17 attempts in every contest. The Eagles will win this game if they rely on Swift and the rushing attack.

Travis Kelce Over 74.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Whether or not Taylor Swift is at the game, Kelce is prime for a bounce-back performance. The superstar has had fewer than 60 receiving yards in back-to-back games, including only 14 in the Germany game. Yet, he still has averaged 74.6 receiving yards per game this season. Before the recent slump, Kelce had 120 or more receiving yards in back-to-back contests. More importantly, the Chiefs have a history of coming out of the bye week on fire, especially the superstar tight end.

In the five years Patrick Mahomes has been the starting quarterback, Kelce has averaged 7.6 receptions on 11.4 targets for 103.6 receiving yards per game in the first matchup off the bye week. Furthermore, he had at least 90 receiving yards in four of those five games. Meanwhile, the Eagles have given up 76 receiving yards per game to tight ends over their past two contests. Kelce had 81 receiving yards in the Super Bowl and should hit that total again in the rematch.
