The Faceoff Sports Network’s NBA Best Bet of the Day – 3/31 features De’Andre Hunter of the Atlanta Hawks in Thursday night’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
De’Andre Hunter Over 14.5 Points & Over 19.5 PRA
For most of the season, the Cavaliers were playing great basketball and shocked many NBA fans as they’ve now won 42 games after their win total was only 25.5 before the season started but now things have begun to spiral downwards. Without Jarret Allen the Cavaliers have seen some bigs go off against them, Chris Boucher (21), Adebayo (30), Zubac (24), Embiid (35), Grant (40), Lebron (38), and Finney Smith (28). On this list, you’ll see names that aren’t scorers every night but had success since Jarret Allen went down. It only gets worse for the Cavaliers as they’re now without Evan Mobley as well and that leaves two huge holes in the lineup.
The first game without Evan Mobley saw Dorian Finney-Smith score 28 points, his new career-high. Why am I taking De’Andre Hunter instead of the Hawks’ big man like Clint Capela? Hunter is a 6’8” big and plays the 4 for the Hawks and without John Collins and Danilo Gallinari, Hunter should see a lot of minutes add the fact that Capela isn’t much of a scorer I’m grabbing the next big for the Hawks to put up points. Hunter is averaging 15 points per game in March while shooting 47% from the field and 36% from three along with that Hunter put up 18 points in his last meeting vs the Cavaliers.
De’Andre Hunter has only hit 15+ points in 18 of 47 games played which don’t look good at all but from October-February he had only scored 15+ points 9 times, things changed in March as he hit 15+ points 9 times in one month. Injuries and an increase of minutes have helped and without John Collins and Gallinari tonight should help him to continue his success scoring.
