NFL-DFS-Week-2-DraftKings-Value-Picks-and-Bargains

Welcome to Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season. In this series, we cover the top DraftKings value picks and bargains on the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) slate for Week 2.

There were many surprises on the Week 1 NFL slate, to say the least. In a surprising turn of events, the Rams’ young wide receivers burst into value. In addition to Tyreek Hill‘s 11-215-2 stat line, Justin Jefferson had over 100 receiving yards. Surprisingly, we saw all three of the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals lose!

We are looking beyond Week 1 now, but our values were good, not great. Now, the Week 2 NFL slate is here and we’re ready to find some value plays! There is a million-maker contest and we all want to win it! Let’s get into the top value picks and bargains on DraftKings for Week 2.

Quarterback – Zach Wilson, $4,900, New York Jets

The Aaron Rodgers injury was a tragedy and his Achilles is officially torn. The New York Jets Coach, Robert Salah, has already confirmed that New York is starting Zach Wilson. You can take his quotes with a grain of salt or believe him full-heartedly. What we do know without a doubt is that Wilson is starting this week.

Wilson didn’t have a fantastic stat line earning 140 passing yards on 14 completions as well as a touchdown. At first glance, you will say this is a trash stat line and that he wasn’t efficient. He was facing off against one of the best defensive teams in the league while I am sure he wasn’t ready to step into play.

The Cowboy’s defense is no joke after what we saw last week against the New York Giants. I am going to catch a lot of heat for wanting to play Wilson in my DraftKings lineup. The price tag for him will open up a lot for you to build a capable lineup. To sum it my case for Wilson, he is priced around backup quarterbacks and Garrett Wilson will have his back to game manage the game.

Honorable Mentions: Baker Mayfield and Jordan Love

Running Back – Justice Hill, $4,900, Baltimore Ravens

Unfortunately, JK Dobbins suffered a torn Achilles last game and it was brutal. The Baltimore Ravens used the duo of Justice Hill and Gus Edwards to take running back snaps after the injury occurred. Melvin Gordon was bumped up from the practice squad to the main roster but that doesn’t scare me for Hill.

Hill found the end zone twice against the Houston Texans which showed confidence in the Baltimore Ravens staff in him. He saw 8 carries and looked okay overall. We aren’t sure who the starting running back will be just yet but Hill earned his role in the offense. Ultimately, Week 2 will prove to us who the clear-cut starting running back is. Personally, I have confidence in Hill to work his way to more snaps.

Honorable Mentions: Roschon Johnson and Zack Moss

Wide Receiver – Nico Collins, $4,800, Houston Texans

Don’t call me crazy but I am liking someone on the Houston Texans! The game didn’t end well for the Texans losing to the Baltimore Ravens 3-28. Other than losing the game, CJ Stroud looked well in his rookie debut. This isn’t about Stroud of course but he showed confidence in himself as well as Nico Collins. The preseason showed that Stroud loved his connection on the field with Collins.

Last game, Collins earned 11 targets which was a team-high by a mile. In those 11 targets, Collins caught six of those targets for 80 yards. The football will be thrown his way especially if the Houston Texans are down a ton of points. Additionally, the confidence is there for Collins from Stroud and after the game on the TexansWire Stroud stated “Me and Nico put in a lot of work in the offseason, just trying to get consistent reps and consistent chemistry down”.

Honorable Mentions: Romeo Doubs and Puka Nucua

Tight End – Adam Trautman, $3,000, Denver Broncos

The former New Orleans Saints found a new home in the offseason joining the Denver Broncos. Adam Trautman wanted to be with Sean Payton and Trautman is going to see an increase in snaps. Now, he will be the starting tight end this Sunday due to the injury of Greg Dulcich that he sustained.

In Week 1, Trautman earned 72% of the total amount of snaps played.  He saw 5 targets and caught all 5 targets thrown his way gaining him 34 yards. More importantly, Russell Wilson will give him looks especially in the end zone.

Furthermore, the Denver Broncos are playing the Washington Commanders this week. Overall, this is a price tag you can work into your lineup and I have confidence in Trautman.

Honorable Mentions: Logan Thomas and Luke Musgrave
