Best Bets returns in NFL Week 13 after taking the holiday off.

We went 3-3-1 in Week 11 and now are 48-30-1 (60.7%) overall, 35-23-1 on Sides, and 13-7 on totals. Lots of plays on deck, let’s get to it.

Week 13 – Free NFL Picks

New York Jets @ Minnesota Vikings

The Pick: Vikings -3

I have never bet against my Yankees, but I probably have bet against my Jets a few times. They have punished me enough to deserve it anyway. I certainly could see them winning this game with how good their defense is and how bad Minnesota’s secondary has been, recently getting torched by Mac Jones two weeks ago.

Jets fans are in love with Mike White right now and he very well may have another very good game in another very good matchup, but I am just playing the numbers and my numbers tell me the Vikings should get the win.

The Vikings are getting some reinforcements back on defense with DE Dalvin Tomlinson and CB Akayleb Evans set to return from injury. Pass rushers Zadarius Smith and Danielle Hunter could wreak havoc on Mike White, they will need to.

If the Jets win, the Legend of Mike White will roll on for at least another week. If he remains turnover free the Jets will likely come out on top, however, the Vikings are fifth in the league with 18 takeaways.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Atlanta Falcons

The Pick: Steelers +1

Kenny Pickett is starting to show some signs of growth the last few weeks, as he hasn’t thrown an interception in his last three games and the Steelers have won two of their last three. Meanwhile, the Falcons have lost three of their last four and now face a better-coached team with a defense that has playmakers.

T.J. Watt is questionable but should play. I’m fading Marcus Mariota and backing Kenny Pickett who has terrific weapons in George Pickens, Diontae Johnson, and Pat Friermuth. Maybe the Falcons should be turning to rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder sooner than later.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions

The Pick: Lions -1

Trevor Lawrence played the game of his NFL career last week in the win over Baltimore.  After a game like that, the future of the Jaguars looks bright. The Lions won three games in a row and almost made it four against the Bills on Thanksgiving only losing by a field goal. Very even game here, but the numbers say take the Lions at home.

D’Andre Swift is officially, officially off the injury report now, I feel like I’ve said this a few times, but they are getting healthier and healthier on offense. They are even getting star rookie wideout, Jameson Williams, back for the first time all season.

Their offensive line play is such a huge key for Jared Goff and their running attack. The Jaguars have tricked me into believing in them early in the year before falling back to their usual, let’s see if they can get a win on the road after an emotional win last week.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears

The Picks: Packers -3, Over 44.5

This might be the first time I’ve picked against the Bears all season, but this is simply because their defense couldn’t stop a pepper salesman from entering your Aunt Zoosie’s house. It’s been atrocious. They also lost safety Eddie Jackson in that game.

Now they face Aaron Rodgers whose weapons are being solidified with the emergence of Christian Watson and the return of Randall Cobb. Justin Fields may go toe to toe for a while, but he’s not going to be able to keep up. The back and forth should put this one over the total as these two teams are allowing  49 points per game combined.

Washington Commanders @ New York Giants

The Pick: Giants +2

The Giants have lost two in a row and three of their last four games and the Commanders have won three in a row and four of their last five. It feels strange to back the Giants in this spot, but this is a division game at home, the Giants desperately need to rebound and they will get their talented rookie tackle, Evan Neal, back for this game. Tight end Daniel Bellinger should also return. Giants are getting healthier, they fit the formula, let’s back the Gmen.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Cincinnati Bengals

The Pick: Bengals +2.5

This is easily the game of the week, a rematch of the AFC Title game last year when the Bengals won 27-24. Patrick Mahomes and company will be out for revenge while the Bengals’ receiving corps will be looking to shut up Chiefs safety Justin Reid who was saying he’s going to shut down Jamaar Chase, Tee Higbee, or Hayden Hurst. He was all over the place in his interview.

We will see about Joe Mixon who is still in concussion protocol, but Chase will return after missing multiple weeks. Joe Burrow will have his full or close to his full arsenal in this matchup and will be ready to go toe to toe with Mahomes. I think the difference in this game will be the defense of the Bengals and their coordinator Lou Anarumo. Must watch game.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Las Vegas Raiders

The Picks: Chargers +1, Over 49

I’ll keep this one nice and simple. Shootout at the O.K. Corral, give me Justin Herbert over Derek Carr in the desert.

Indianapolis Colts @ Dallas Cowboys

The Pick: Colts +10.5

This one certainly feels very one-sided and could end up with Dallas blowing out the Colts. Matt Ryan is certainly in for it facing a Dallas team that has the most sacks in the NFL with his offensive line allowing the most sacks. However, I still like the way this Colts’ defense plays and I think it’s just too many points.

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Pick: Bucs -3.5

Tom Brady lost a gigantic piece on the line in Tristan Wirfs last week to a high ankle sprain and now faces a formidable Saints defense. The Bucs are also banged up in their secondary with safety Mike Edwards and corners Sean Murphy-Bunting and Antoine Winfield Jr. all doubtful for this game.

Some good news for the Bucs is they are getting back Leonard Fournette and possibly slot wideout Russell Gage. Andy Dalton hasn’t played terribly this season with a 14/7 TD to Int ratio but I don’t foresee the Saints who are 1-4 on the road this season going into Tampa Bay and winning this game. I think this spread should be more like six points. As always buy the hook down to three if you are able.
