From the time Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants couldn’t strike a deal before the franchise tag deadline, many in the fantasy football community were wondering if and when he would be back on the field. Now, we can put all this behind us as Barkley has signed a one-year deal. The new deal, which gives him a $2 million signing bonus, beats the franchise tag value of $10.091 million that was given to running backs this year.
After three years of piled-up injuries, Barkley rebounded back to his 2018 form. New coach Bryan Daboll did a great job in rebuilding this team last offseason, as Barkley went on to finish as a top-5 running back in fantasy.
While looking mostly back to form, Barkley went on to rush for a career-high 1,312 rushing yards. Additionally, he had 57 receptions (76 targets), but was nowhere close to his rookie season where he had 121 targets.
With Daniel Jones getting a four-year extension, he now gets his star running back for at least another year.
The questions are over, Barkley will be at training camp and will be an RB1 for your fantasy teams. For those of you who did any best ball drafts or early drafts just got a steal. Look to draft Barkley as a top-5 running back worth drafting in the middle of the first round.

In your dynasty leagues, you know for a fact that you have another year of RB1 production coming. Just like best ball drafts, some may have enjoyed the value they were getting on the 26-year-old back. Now, he’s back and should be valued no later than an early second-round pick.
