Fantasy Football Outlook

Trevor Lawrence has been one of the best quarterbacks and things continue to point forward for him. The Jaguars are coming off their first postseason win since 2017 and this team has a lot of young talent. Needless to say, he’s becoming a fantastic option for your fantasy football leagues. Today, we’ll be breaking down his potential outlook and upside for the upcoming 2023 NFL season.

Lawrence made things look a lot easier in his second year in the league. Additionally, he finished 387-of-584 (66.3% completion percentage) for 4,113 yards with 25 touchdowns to eight interceptions. Not to mention, his quarterback rating increased from 71.9 in his rookie year to a 95.2 quarterback rating last year.

The offense continues to improve around him as well with the addition of Calvin Ridley to make everyone else’s lives easier. This should make the rest of the offense even better.

After another year away from Urban Meyer and getting some more stability, things are looking great for The Prince Who Was Promised going forward.

2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

We saw Lawrence do a lot better adjusting to the speed of the game in 2022 and should continue to improve. He eliminated most of his turnover plays last season as he went from a 2.8 interception percentage to 1.4 a year ago. He also more than doubled his touchdown percentage in that stretch from 2.0 to 4.3 so things are pointing up.

Furthermore, the Jaguars’ strength of schedule and the defenses they are facing in the 2023 season is average. The Colts and Texans are in a rebuild while the Titans are trying to find an identity so that’s six games of relative ease for Lawrence. With his average yards per attempt increasing and an emerging Calvin Ridley as his top option, things should be looking good in northern Florida.

He’s not afraid to use his legs as he ran the ball 62 times for 291 yards and five touchdowns to add to his fantasy value. However, he is going to primarily live in the pocket but could get a first down running or have a couple of designed runs in a game.

Overall, Lawrence’s value is going to be high as he continues to improve and the Jacksonville offense is trending in the right direction. Personally, I’m projecting this offensive line to be better than the 2.2-pocket time he had last season. In the second year of this offense, expect Lawrence to be a QB1 and drafted around the fifth or sixth round.

Dynasty Football Outlook

Lawrence is in the third year of his rookie contract and he has proven to do enough to have his fifth-year option picked up. As a young quarterback with one of the highest ceilings as he is a few years away from his prime, he has a QB1 potential as early as this season. All things considered, this bodes extremely well for his long-term dynasty football outlook.

Furthermore, there is at least another decade worth of high-level football under center. This team also is developing a strong offensive system with head coach Doug Pederson dominating on this side of the field.

Good luck acquiring him in your dynasty leagues right now. If anything, he’s a strong hold or potentially even someone you might sell high in if you can get a massive haul in return.
