Tua Tagovailoa 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Fantasy Football Outlook
Last season was super interesting for Tua Tagovailoa. Coming off a 3,000 passing-yard season, 20 touchdowns, and dazzling throws. The injuries were scary but he was a fantasy darling when he was on the field. Needless to say, the fantasy football performances he can put up are elite.
In Week 3, he had a back injury and was later found to have a concussion. The next week, he was slammed to the ground and it was a super scary scene. In Week 16, he went to the ground and after the game, he was found to have another concussion. It has been great seeing him come back in the offseason.
Tagovailoa is someone you want on all your fantasy teams coming into this season. Mike McDaniel, head coach of the Miami Dolphins, loves to run the offense through Tagovailoa under center. The offense erupted in the rankings when McDaniel came into Vice City. The weapons that he has around him are extremely ready to help him this season.
Today, we’re breaking down the potential fantasy football outlook for Tagovailoa in 2023.
Fantasy Football Outlook for 2023
Speaking about the weapons the Miami Dolphins have been simply fantastic. We allegedly get to see Tyreek Hill for one more year and the young stud Jaylen Waddle on the outside running through defenses. Both of these receivers combined for over 3,000 receiving yards. The duo of both receivers are unstoppable which I understand Tagovailoa was hurt in most of those games. The running back position boosted up in the 2023 NFL Draft when they drafted Devon Achane.
The Miami Dolphins added two other receivers that are a part of the arsenal. The veteran in Braxton Berrios is now on the team as well as a deep field threat in Chosen Anderson. The wide receiver group that he can spread passes to will certainly boost his fantasy production. The tight end position isn’t fantastic but it can operate with two veterans.
In our 2023 PPR Fantasy Football Draft Rankings, he is number 10 overall in the quarterback rankings. He can sustain being in the top ten if his injuries don’t occur like last season. The weapons as well as his running ability on the ground can certainly boost him in the rankings. If we look into last year, Tagovailoa is no slouch on the ground and he can scramble.
Dynasty Outlook
Tagovailoa is simply a high-risk and high-reward player entering this season. Do you want fantasy production through the roof? Tagovailoa is your guy to draft all day but the injuries he had were concerning last season. In our latest Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings, Tagovailoa is the 15th-ranked player in the quarterback category.
In standard leagues, Tagovailoa has all the makings to be a viable option despite the matchup. The big play ability and air yards he achieved are one of the best in the league at 8.9 yards per pass attempt. Dynasty is hard to judge at the moment because we can’t predict injuries of course. He is set to make his return and it is going to be a sight to see in 2023!
