Fantasy-Football-Deep-Dive-Waiver-Wire-Pickups-for-Week-6

Welcome back to another edition of our deep dive waiver wire pickups for your fantasy football leagues. These players are mainly for targetting in your deeper leagues of 14+ teams. However, plenty should be relevant in any of your leagues out there.

While everyone is placing waivers for the top names, often some names go completely missed through the first round of waivers. This allows you not to waste a waiver claim and add the player right away. Overall, this list should have some of those players, especially in your deeper fantasy football leagues.

Rostered Percentages per Sleeper as of 10/10/23

Deep Dive Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 6

Emari Demercado, RB, Arizona Cardinals, (Sleeper Rostered 29%)

Unfortunately, James Conner suffered a knee injury and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Meanwhile, Emari Demercado saw the majority of the rushes out of the backfield. He rushed 10 times for 45 yards and a touchdown while catching one of three targets for 12 yards. Additionally, the Cardinals went and signed Tony Jones on Monday. However, if Conner is forced to miss any time, expect Demercado to see the majority of the work.

D’Onta Foreman, RB, Chicago Bears, (14%)

With Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson both injured, D’Onta Foreman could be the next man up to start for the Bears. Johnson has extra time to attempt to clear concussion protocol and would be the starter. Herbert has a high ankle sprain and could be out for multiple weeks. If neither back is cleared, expect Foreman to get a one-week tryout at starter. If Johnson is cleared, Foreman is a capable backup.

Jordan Mason, RB, San Fransisco 49ers (32%)

Elijah Mitchell missed Sunday’s game against the Cowboys allowing Jordan Mason to get backup reps behind Christian McCaffrey. Mitchell has now missed two games due to a knee injury, and with the 49ers up by a lot, Mason saw a lot of late rushes. Additionally, he rushed 10 times for 69 yards and a touchdown. Furthermore, he also saw one target in the passing game.

Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints, (20%)

In what could have just been the game script since the Saints were up by such a large amount against the New England Patriots, Kendre Miller saw expanded playing time and made good use of that. Miller rushed 12 times for 37 yards and caught all four targets for 53 yards. Additionally, he is expected to remain the RB2 in New Orleans until Jamaal Williams comes off IR. The earliest Williams can return is October 19th, leaving a nice window for Miller to potentially produce for your fantasy teams.

Trenton Irwin, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (3%)

Tee Higgins missed Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, and Ja’Marr Chase had a huge three-touchdown breakout performance. Something that went under the radar was Trenton Irwin seeing ten total targets and catching eight of them for 60 yards. If Higgins misses more time, Irwin is a very good addition for their next matchup at home against the Seattle Seahawks.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts, (26%)

Josh Downs has had a really impressive start to his rookie season. He could take a hit with Anthony Richardson being down numerous weeks with a shoulder injury. Gardner Minshew now will take over at quarterback. Downs has shown chemistry with Minshew so it really shouldn’t affect him as much. Additionally, on Sunday caught all six of his targets for 97 yards. All things considered, he is becoming a Flex option in deeper formats.

KJ Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings, (16%)

Justin Jefferson has been placed on IR and will be missing at least four games with a hamstring injury. Moving forward, expect Jordan Addison to step into the WR1 role, and KJ Osborn to see a chance at the WR2 role.

On Sunday against the Chiefs, Osborn saw a total of nine targets. Overall, he caught five of them for 49 yards. Sunday was the largest volume share of the season for Osborn, and now has the chance to be their WR2 heading into Chicago.

Tyrod Taylor, QB, New York Giants, (7%)

Daniel Jones left Sunday’s game with a neck injury. While the Giants remain optimistic he will start on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, Tyrod Taylor should be on your radar if you need a backup quarterback or a low-end QB2. In Sunday’s game against Miami, he completed 9 of 12 passes for 86 yards as well as 14 rushing yards.

Gardner Minshew, QB, Indianapolis Colts, (4%)

A shoulder injury to Richardson could leave him out for a month or more. Minshew now has a chance to start for the next month or month plus for the Colts. In relief on Sunday, he went 11 for 14 for 155 yards displaying his accuracy. Next, he gets the Jaguars in a divisional matchup but does see the Browns and Saints defenses following this. Expect the Colts to try and establish the run game with Jonathan Taylor back, despite Zack Moss having a huge year himself.
