Week-15-DraftKings-Saturday-Slate

We have three exciting games to kick off our Saturday slate. First up is the Colts versus the Vikings (1 PM EST), then the Ravens versus the Browns (4:30 PM EST), and finally the Dolphins versus the Bills (8:12 PM EST. We are going to have some fun with this slate. Typically, I give you my weekly bargain plays for the Sunday main slate. However, for this Saturday slate, I’m giving you stacks to build your lineups around.

Before I break down all of our picks, here are the most notable scoring rules for DraftKings contests: Full-point PPR, four-point passing TDs, three-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing. Along with having a $50,000 budget to build a complete lineup. Let’s get right into it with this Week 15 DraftKings Saturday Slate.

Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings

QB Matt Ryan ($5,200), RB Jonathan Taylor ($7,200), and WR Michael Pittman ($5,800)

The Colts stack comes in as the cheapest with Matt Ryan being the cheapest of the starting quarterbacks on this Saturday slate. Hell, both Lamar Jackson ($7,200) and Tyler Huntley ($5,300) are even more expensive than Ryan.

Ryan has looked lost at times and has a bad case of interceptions as he has a 1:1 touchdown to interception ratio of 13. He has gone over 20 DK points only four times this season scoring less than 14 DK points over the last three weeks. Mind you, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Dallas are solid pass defenses whereas the Vikings have given up the third most fantasy points over the last five weeks.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Taylor comes in as the second most expensive running back on the slate. He’s on an extremely hot streak averaging 21 carries for 100 yards before the Week 14 bye. Furthermore, he has three touchdowns over that four-game span, and coming off the bye fresh he’s worth the cost. He’s going to eat up this Vikings’ defense.

As for the pass catcher, you can not pass up the value of Michael Pittman Jr. Coming off a 3.6 DK points game is not how you want to go into a bye week. Costing $400 less than your Week 13 value is well worth it here. If you recall that Sunday night game against the Cowboys, the Colts just got steamrolled in the fourth quarter giving up 40 unanswered points in the second half.

Luckily, the Vikings’ pass defense is nothing like the Cowboys and they are easy to throw on. Over the past five weeks, the Vikings have given up 1,179 yards to receivers alone, the highest of any team. Look for Pittman to get back on the right side of our good graces here as the Lions wide receivers just lit them up for three touchdowns.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

RB J.K. Dobbins ($5,200), WR Amari Cooper ($6,100), and WR Donovan Peoples-Jones ($5,100)

What a down season it has been for J.K. Dobbins. This season he never got above 45 yards rushing till last week when he went off with 15 rushing attempts for 120 yards and a touchdown. It was his first time seeing the field since Week 6 and he looked like the Dobbins we all loved from the end of the 2020 season.

In this case with Dobbins being the seventh most expensive running back, you have to smash it! Outside of Mark Andrews, is there anyone you want to start? I’ll answer that for you and say, Dobbins. You can run on the Browns who have been giving up 20 PPR points to the running back position as of late.

Sure this backfield will be a split of Gus Edwards and Kenyan Drake with Dobbins, but it’s Dobbins who will be getting the valued touches. He’s far and away the most talented back in Baltimore and will continue to get more involved as he gets healthier.

When Amari Cooper is home (21.95 DK points) he smashes, and when he’s on the road he’s no better than 9.35 DK points. The same can’t be said for Donovan Peoples-Jones as he’s been solid as a WR3 or Flex option. A player of his caliber should not be breaking the $5k mark this late in the season. The Ravens have been good recently, but have gotten beaten by the deep ball. I like both receivers to have a chance for big plays as DeShaun Watson has the arm to get it deep to his two top receivers.

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

QB Josh Allen ($8,300), WR Stefon Diggs ($8,100), and Dolphins DST ($2,300)

This is the most expensive stack you can build and still feel pretty good about it. The last time these two teams met it was a dogfight as the total yards (Bills – 497; Dolphins – 212) didn’t match up with the 21-19 Dolphins victory.

Josh Allen is the most expensive quarterback on the slate and rightfully so. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and still one of the top candidates for NFL MVP outside of Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts. If he can’t do it in the passing game, he’ll use his legs instead. Since their Week 7 bye, he’s been averaging 22 DK points. Prior to this, he was averaging 31.83.

With this in mind, don’t hesitate to pay up for Allen as he has that week-winning ability. Especially in this Saturday-only slate. The last time these two teams met Allen threw for 400 yards and, two touchdowns, and ran for 47 additional yards.

After a down game against the New York Jets, I like Stefon Diggs to bounce back in a big way. The Dolphins’ defense gave up an astonishing 261 yards to Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers! They also needed space heaters on the sideline to stay warm. Diggs should keep that sideline warm as he burns this defense for a top-notch performance.

A contrarian play, yet one I’m not scared to play is the Miami Dolphins DST. Since their Week 11 bye, they have 13 sacks, three interceptions, a defensive fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown. Allen has been taking a lot sacks lately and also has been turning the ball over. This defensive line will be working hard to get to Allen who will make a mistake or two in this game. As the cheapest defense on the slate, why not?
