Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week

Josh Jacobs @ KC

The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a running back outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Kansas City Chiefs, Josh Jacobs is my start of the week.

After winning your fantasy league in 2022, Josh Jacobs has been very disappointing in 2023. Right now, Jacobs is averaging 13.9 PPG, and if you drafted him as an RB1, you may not be in the fantasy playoffs. However, we know that our readers can overcome adversity, and most of them are 1-2 wins away from a championship.

Jacobs has been very hit-or-miss, but having him outside the top 24 backs doesn’t make sense. Jacobs can explode on any given week, unlike these bottom-tier running backs. Despite scoring seven points in week 14, Jacobs had 22.5 points in week 12 against the Chiefs

Aidan O’Connell is coming off a fantastic performance and can hopefully keep the Raiders in the game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not over the moon about starting Jacobs, but if you need an RB2, he has upside that not many other backs in this range can match.
