Week-17-DraftKings-Bargain-Bin-Plays-and-DFS-Values-courtland-sutton

We’re bringing in the New Year right with a fun Week 17 Sunday slate as we have 13 games coming up. Looking over DraftKings positions, the quarterback position looks like the one to spend up on as this week’s matchups are tough for some. As the cost goes down, the value is tougher to find. The same goes for tight ends. The value just looks better at the top, despite the price.

Before I break down all of our picks, here are the most notable scoring rules for DraftKings contests: Full-point PPR, four-point passing TDs, three-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing. Along with having a $50,000 budget to build a complete lineup. Let’s get into it with these Week 17 DraftKings Bargain Bin Plays and DFS Values.

QUARTERBACKS

Russell Wilson ($5,400)

When these teams met in Week 14, we saw the vintage Russell Wilson who went off for 247 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. We’re not expecting him to repeat but with Nathaniel Hackett being fired it’s time for a fresh start. Sure, Christmas day was a disaster for Wilson and the Broncos but the change was finally made. The Chiefs have been giving up the eighth most fantasy points to the quarterback position over the last three weeks. Jerry Jeudy is back healthy and maybe Wilson will actually cook and we all get back on riding with Broncos Country.

Baker Mayfield ($5,300)

Over his past two home games, Baker Mayfield has been averaging 15.8 DK points. Keep in mind that the Chargers and the Rams share the same home field so who really has the advantage? Our money should be on Mayfield this week as he’s been looking better now than he has in a while. With his third week on the team and he just completed 85.7% of his passes against one of the toughest pass defenses.

Mayfield is looking comfortable and getting a stingy pass defense that ranks top-5 against quarterbacks will be the ultimate challenge. I think we get another good game out of Mayfield.

RUNNING BACKS

Cam Akers ($6,100)

What we have gotten out of Cam Akers the last month (80 DK points) is what we were hoping for all season. Mind you, he just blew up for 37.7 points, but the way he was looking against one of the best rush defenses was a gift to us all. Seeing him bust through the line for 118 yards and three touchdowns now gives him six touchdowns over his last four games.

The Chargers have a tough run defense as they have only allowed two rushing touchdowns over the last five games. Show no fear as the Chargers did just give up 65 rushing yards to Zack Moss

Miles Sanders ($5,900)

With back-to-back games below 10 DK points, Miles Sanders comes in at a terrific value! For a running back who is averaging over 15 carries a game, there is no reason he should be below $6,000. 10 total points over the last two weeks is tough to see, but 32 attempts in that span is still good news for Sanders.

The Saints have been bad against running backs giving up back-to-back games over 100 rushing yards to teams running backs in the Browns and the Falcons. Additionally, if Jalen Hurts is to come back this week, I like his chances to produce more as it’s tougher for defenses to read what Hurts will do than Gardner Minshew.

D’Andre Swift ($5,300) / Jamaal Williams ($5,000)

Last week both Devin Singletary (23.5) and James Cook (17.8) had a day against the Chicago Bears. Now it’s D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams’ turn. Running backs have produced 100 total rushing yards, or a touchdown every game against the Bears this year.

The last time these two teams met, both Swift and Williams scored and I can see them both getting into the end zone once again. The Lions are going to need their offense to work together as they try and push for a playoff spot.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Allen Lazard ($5,400)

Speaking of playoffs, if the Green Bay Packers win out and the Commanders lose a game, the Packers are in. What a playoff scenario to be in! With Christian Watson taking a step, Allen Lazard was put on the back burner and served more as the WR2/WR3 in this offense. When Watson went down last week against the Dolphins, Lazard stepped up. He turned 11 targets into five receptions for 61 yards.

Lazard hasn’t scored since Week 9, but that should change against the Minnesota Vikings. Furthermore, the Vikings have given up over 15 PPR points to opposing WR1s and at least 11 PPR points to opposing WR2s. All in all, this makes Lazard an easy smash who should see at least 4X in return.

Courtland Sutton ($5,100)

Welcome back, Courtland Sutton! After missing the last two weeks with a hamstring injury, Sutton came back and caught five of seven targets for 64 yards. Hamstring injuries are tough to come back from, but Sutton looked like himself out there on the field. The Broncos are a mess right now, but as I said about Russell Wilson, I feel like a clean start to this offense is needed and will happen. If not, well we at least could get garbage time production against a pass defense that has been pretty good as of late.

Isaiah Hodges ($4,500)

Over the last month, Isaiah Hodges has been the WR1 for the New York Giants. He has three touchdowns over his last four games and, Daniel Jones should be looking at Hodges against this bad Colts secondary who has given up the fifth most points to wide receivers over the last five weeks. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both performed last week against the Colts and I see Hodges continuing his hot streak this week.

TIGHT ENDS

Gerald Everett ($4,200)

We were so used to Gerald Everett being Justin Herbert‘s safety blanket, but what happened Monday night? Everett wasn’t injured, he was just not needed in the passing game against the Indianapolis Colts. Since the bye week, Everett averaged four receptions for 42 yards, producing 8 DK points without a touchdown. I like his chances of bouncing back this week.

Noah Fant ($3,400)

I was hoping with Tyler Lockett being out, we would see more of Noah Fant being featured in the offense. That didn’t happen. What was nice was that he scored a touchdown again, making it three touchdowns in his last four games. The Jets all season have been a tough defense for tight ends, but not so much over the last couple of weeks. As long as Lockett remains out, I like Fant’s opportunity this week.
