Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week

Amon-Ra St. Brown @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a wide receiver outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Tampa Bay BuccaneersAmon-Ra St. Brown is my start of the week.

In all my years of doing the start of the week, I’ve never had an easier start than Amon-Ra St. Brown. Let me preface things by saying I don’t see a point in ranking St. Brown at 37. For all my rankings, I put players by where they should be ranked, assuming they’re healthy.

Right now, it looks like St. Brown will be available Sunday, according to the reports coming out of the Lions camp. Dan Campbell, who is relatively open with the media, said, “I feel pretty good about the possibility of him playing this week,” on 97.1-WXYT FM.

The Lions are facing off against the Buccaneers, which should be a solid matchup for St. Brown. The Buccaneers have allowed the 9th most PPG to WRs, which isn’t surprising due to their weak secondary. Right now, the Lions have an implied team total of 23.5 and are 2.5-point favorites. This should be a close game where the Lions can put up enough points to make their skill player’s fantasy relevant. For those of you interested in nostalgia, it’s also Creamsicle week in Tampa Bay.

If you’re concerned about St. Brown still having lingering effects from last week, don’t be. An abdominal injury shouldn’t linger, and as long as St. Brown is on the field, he’s a WR1.
