Tight End – Start Of The Week

Cole Kmet @ LAC

The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a tight end outside the top 12 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Facing off against the Los Angeles ChargersCole Kmet is my start of the week.

This week was one of my more difficult decisions, as the consensus rankings are pretty good. That said, Cole Kmet should be back as a low-end TE1 this week. Despite having a disappointing last few weeks, Kmet is now fully healthy, heading into Week 8.

Kmet was on the injury report during week six, but it seems like he’s fully recovered now. You want to be chasing upside at the tight end position, and we’ve seen Kmet score 27.6 and 15.2 points in weeks four and five this year.

This week, the Bears take on the Chargers in what should be a blowout. Right now, the Bears are 8-point underdogs and will likely be trailing from the jump. Although Tyson Bagent is a below-average NFL quarterback, this increase in passing volume should make Kmet serviceable for Week 8.
