Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week
Tee Higgins @ San Francisco 49ers
The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a wide receiver outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the San Francisco 49ers, Tee Higgins is my start of the week.
Last week, my start of the week was Jordan Addison against the 49ers. It’s important to understand that just because the 49ers are a good defense doesn’t mean wide receivers can’t find fantasy success against them. In the end, this was clearly proven true with Addison finishing as the WR1 last week.
Tee Higgins has been very disappointing this year, averaging 8.2 PPG, but coming off a bye week, I expect big things from the Bengals offense. For one, Higgins has been dealing with injuries all year, and this bye week should help him recover.
Not only has Higgins been dealing with injuries, but Joe Burrow has been suffering from his calf injury for quite some time. Burrow has looked very bad this year, which has hurt Ja’Marr Chase as well. That said, Burrow has looked better as of late, and this bye week is exactly what he needs.
The Bengals have the 5th most passing attempts per game, which should be amplified even more against the 49ers. Considering that the 49ers are 3.5-point favorites, this should force an already pass-heavy offense to throw the ball almost every single down. This bye week will allow the Bengals to get healthy and live up to their expectations heading into the year.
