DFS Cash Game Picks – Week 15

DFS-Cash-Game-Picks-Week-15-Jayden-Reed

Welcome to another edition of DFS Cash Game Picks. In this series, we target some expensive players who are worth paying for. Additionally, we have some value plays as well. We’ll be breaking down the best DFS picks you should be targeting in Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season

Last week’s picks were some of my best picks of the season. Multiple value guys smashed and every pick scored a minimum of double-digit fantasy points. Let’s keep the momentum going with another great week as we head into the final stretch of the regular season. Below is a quick recap of last week’s picks followed by my picks for Week 15. Good luck with your lineups!

Smash

Chase Brown had his best week of his young career scoring 19.50 fantasy points. Brown was by far the cheapest running back to score 15+ and was one of the best values on the entire slate.

Desmond Ridder was also one of the best values on the entire slate finishing as the QB2. My prediction of a Ridder rushing touchdown was spot on as he finished with 29.38 fantasy points.

Justin Fields had another good game against the Detroit Lions. He finished the week as the QB5 scoring 24.72 fantasy points.

Quentin Johnston had his most receiving yards of the season with 93 despite the Chargers offense being brutal and losing Justin Herbert. He ultimately finished with 12.1 fantasy points providing solid value at his salary.

Duds

Christian McCaffrey was unable to find the endzone for only the second time this season. However, he still scored 19.30 which is solid but when you’re paying the price of $9,200 you need more.

Amari Cooper had a solid week but didn’t quite do enough to be a great pick. He finished with 13.70 fantasy points. If he was able to find the end zone and didn’t fumble he would have been much better.

Quarterbacks

Josh Allen ($8,200)

This is a must-win game for Allen and the Buffalo Bills. They are currently 11th in the AFC playoff race and a loss this late into the season would be devastating for their playoff chances. Unfortunately, they will face the Dallas Cowboys this week, fresh off a huge divisional win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. The Cowboys defense played perhaps their best game of the season Sunday.

However, this is a prime letdown spot for the Cowboys and their defense has not been as good as the numbers say. Allen should be in for a huge game with the over/under being set at 50.5 and it being a potential shootout.

Matthew Stafford ($6,000)

Stafford has been on fire for the last three weeks. In that stretch, he has thrown for 10 total touchdowns and at least 229 passing yards in all three games. Furthermore, he put up those good numbers against a very good Baltimore and Cleveland defense. This week, he matches up against the Washington Commanders, who have one of the worst defenses in the league.

Notably, the Commanders have allowed the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. I believe that will continue this week with Stafford under center, making him a solid DFS pick this week.

Running Backs

Kyren Williams ($7,500)

Williams is a great pivot off of a Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua stack with Stafford. Williams has been tremendous all season long and now he will get another very good matchup. The Commanders have allowed the second-most receiving touchdowns to running backs this season.

Furthermore, the Rams are 6.5-point favorites with an over/under at 48.5 points. That implies that the Rams will score 3-4 touchdowns. Hopefully, Williams can get one through the air to make the stack very valuable.

D’Onta Foreman ($5,000)

The Chicago Bears backfield has been all over the place all season. Between Foreman, Roschon Johnson, and Khalil Herbert they have all spent time as the RB1. However, last week Foreman was the guy playing 55% of the snaps. Foreman should be the lead guy again this week against the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns have a very good pass defense but they have been beaten on the ground the last couple of weeks. Since Week 10, they lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns allowed with six as well as an average of 97 rushing yards to running backs per game. Look for the Bears to lean on Foreman this week in a tough matchup.

Wide Receivers

Brandon Aiyuk ($7,200)

Aiyuk has scored double-digit fantasy points in each of the last eight games. More importantly, he has scored four touchdowns in just his last five games. When Aiyuk matched up against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, he had a massive game catching six passes for 148 receiving yards. That was his highest receiving total of the season. Furthermore, the Cardinals have allowed the 10th most fantasy points to outside wide receivers. All things considered, Aiyuk should have another huge game this week as he looks to set himself up for a huge payday in the offseason.

Jayden Reed ($4,900)

Reed has been the Green Bay Packers’ most consistent weapon this season. The rookie leads the team in receiving yards, as well as tied for the most total touchdowns with seven. This week, he gets a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. The Buccaneers are one of the worst defenses in terms of fantasy points allowed to slot receivers this season. Reed spends most of his time in the slot, as he has 307 slot snaps on the season.

Furthermore, Reed has also been getting work on the ground with nine carries in his last four games including two rushing touchdowns. Look for Reed to continue his impressive rookie campaign this week.

Tight Ends

Dalton Kincaid ($5,300)

The tight end position is kind of ugly this week with a lot of the top players having tough matchups. However, Kincaid is a solid option and a good stack with Allen. They face the Cowboys defense, who are tied for second worst in the league with six touchdowns allowed to tight ends this season.

Furthermore, Kincaid has been one of the Bills’ more consistent offensive players, having scored no less than seven points in his last seven games. More importantly, Kincaid is seeing a 21.7% target share in those seven games, which is second on the team. Keep an eye on Kincaid’s status for the game with a shoulder injury but if he does play, look for him to find the end zone.

Chigoziem Okonkwo ($2,900)

Chig is coming off his best fantasy performance of the season. It is very telling how disappointing his sophomore campaign has been considering 9.6 fantasy points is his highest on the year. However, over the last three weeks, he has been stringing together solid games. In those games, he has seen 17 targets catching 12 of them for 153 receiving yards.

Furthermore, in those three games, he’s seen a 28% target share per route run. This week, he faces the Houston Texans who have allowed the third most receiving yards and fantasy points to tight ends. Look for Chig to keep the momentum going and to finally break double-digit fantasy points.

Defense / Special Teams

Chicago Bears ($3,300)

The Bears defense is certainly not the same defense they were the first month of the season. The trade for Montez Sweat made a significant difference, as they have been a top-ten defense in the last five games. Furthermore, they have forced 11 turnovers in just the last four games, which is first in the NFL.

This week, Chicago will face Joe Flacco who has played very well in his two games with the Browns. However, the Browns’ offensive line is banged up as they are down to a third-string right tackle and backup left tackle. Look for the Bears to dial up some pressure making things difficult for Flacco resulting in turnovers and a great fantasy day for the Bears defense.
