Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 15: Add Chase Brown + OBJ

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 15: Pick Up Chase Brown

Welcome back to another edition of Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups. We’re heading into Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season. Luckily for us, we are entering the fantasy football playoffs!! This is an exciting part of the fantasy football season, but at the same time, it’s sad because the 2023 season is almost over.

For your fantasy football teams, adding the right players off the waiver wire is crucial to your fantasy football success. Especially now, as every win gets us one closer to that fantasy football title we all strive for.

With the above in mind, there are always areas to improve or block another manager. Regardless of your situation, here are players you should look to add for Week 15 based on CBS Fantasy Sports roster percentages. These players are listed in order of priority. Let’s get right into it with the top waiver wire pickups for your fantasy football teams as we head into Week 15!

For this waiver wire column, we are only looking at players rostered in less than 60% of leagues according to CBS as of 12/11/23.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 15

Quarterback Waiver Wire Pickups

Gardner Minshew, QB, Indianapolis Colts (57% Rostered)

Minshew put up reasonable numbers, yet didn’t turn into a shoot-out like I hoped. The veteran signal called connected with eight different pass-catchers, so he’s not afraid to spread the ball around. He will look to bounce back against a Steelers defense that allowed Bailey Zappe to throw three touchdowns.

Joe Flacco, QB, Cleveland Browns (16% Rostered)

It’s amazing how Flacco just slings the ball around still. He has had 44 and 45 pass attempts since taking over as the starter. Additionally, he has also thrown for multiple touchdowns. The Browns have relied heavily on Flacco’s arm and that should continue going forward as they get the Bears, Texans, and Jets for the fantasy playoffs.

Zach Wilson, QB, New York Jets (12% Rostered)

Wilson maybe just needed to sit. Wilson got the start for the first time since Week 11 and performed well. He completed 27 of 36 (75%) passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, things seemed to click for the young signal caller outside of a lost fumble. However, he bounced back as the game went on. The Jets take on the Dolphins in Week 15, followed by the Commanders and Browns.

See if available: Matthew Stafford (80%) While rostered in the majority of leagues on CBS, but on all other sites he’s my top priority. CJ Stroud may miss Week 15, while Justin Herbert may be out for the remainder of the fantasy football season. Stafford takes on a dismantled Commanders defense in Week 15, followed by the Saints and the Giants in championship week.

Jake Browning (67%) After breaking out in a Week 13 Monday night game, Browning continued his hot streak into Week 14. Now is the time to take him seriously as this Bengals offense is clicking and still in the playoff hunt. The Bengals take on the Vikings in Week 15.

Running Back Waiver Wire Pickups

Ty Chandler, RB, Minnesota Vikings (44% Rostered)

Over the last few weeks, Chandler has seen his role increase.  Chandler dominated the touches, and now he may thrust him into the starting role as an RB2 for our fantasy teams. Yet he struggled for less than 10 PPR points. He’s my top back to add this week as we wait to hear more about Alexander Mattison’s injury.

D’Onta Foreman, RB, Chicago Bears (57% Rostered)

Foreman returned from a one-game absence to lead the Bears backfield with 13 touches while Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson combined for the other four. The Bears designed the majority of the run plays for Justin Fields, hence the low volume for the backs. They could use Foreman as no worse than a flex play after a tough matchup against Cleveland in Week 15 followed by the Cardinals, then Atlanta.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (62% Rostered)

Edwards-helaire performed modestly against the Buffalo Bills after they named him the Week 14 starter. Not to mention, the Chiefs as a whole just struggled. However, there were some bright sides to Edwards-Helaire as he caught a 20-yard pass. Yet, it was Jerick McKinnon (37% ) who scored the one-yard touchdown. The majority of leagues have Edwards-Helaire at 62%. But if Isiah Pacheco is to miss Week 15 or more, both backs are worth adding where available.

Zamir White, RB, Las Vegas Raiders (5% Rostered)

Josh Jacobs left the game with a knee injury and his status for Week 15 is unknown as of this writing. The Raiders have a juicy matchup against the Chargers, but it’s hard to get excited over this offense as it is one of the worst in the league. Additionally, this backfield could be a committee with Ameer Abdullah, making either back a fringe RB3.

Chase Brown, RB, Cincinnati Bengals (12% Rostered)

For the second week in a row, the rookie out of Illinois has seen at least eight opportunities. Additionally, he has turned those opportunities into 61 and 105 total yards. Brown is now the RB2 in Cincinnati and people can view him as this year’s Samaje Perine. If he continues on this trajectory, we should view him as a desperation flex.

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups

Zay Jones, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (33% Rostered)

Jones finished with five catches for 29 yards, but what caught my eye was the 14 targets. Leading the team in targets, yet fourth in receiving yards it was Jones’s second game with at least eight targets. Now with Christian Kirk on IR, Jones should see a heavy load of targets as the Jaguars next three matchups are Baltimore, Tampa Bay, and Carolina.

Odell Beckham Jr, WR, Baltimore Ravens (60% Rostered)

Finishing the day with four catches (10 targets) for 97 yards and a touchdown now gives Beckham at least 10 PPR points in four of his last five games. I’ll give his 40% catch rate a pass as the weather was rainy in Baltimore. He’s not the same OBJ of old but does show some of those flashes still. Going forward, view him as an RB3 with matchups against Jacksonville, San Francisco, and Miami. All defenses can give up big plays.

Curtis Samuel, WR, Washington Commanders (53% Rostered)

Last week I stated the case to add Samuel. It’s the same this week as he’s now coming off of his bye. The Commanders have turned their offense into a more pass-happy approach as the defense has become depleted. He has turned 17 targets into 13 receptions for 165 yards in his last two games. This hot streak should continue going forward this next week against the Rams, followed by a tough one against the Jets, and then wrapping it up in the championship against the 49ers.

Tight End Waiver Wire Pickups

Darren Waller, TE, New York Giants (54% Rostered)

As of this writing, the projection is that Waller will come off injured reserve this week. Before his hamstring injury, he was a top-10 tight end. During that time, he had observed at least five targets in six of seven games, not including the game in which he got injured. People should view him as a low-end starter who has favorable matchups against the Saints, Eagles, and Rams.

Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers (8% Rostered)

Kraft has started to come on with Luke Musgrave on injured reserve. He had a career day with 64 receiving yards, topping his 37 from the week prior. This could turn into something good as he gets the Buccaneers, Panthers, and Vikings to end the season.

The Jets are a mess. But seeing Conklin get nine targets has my attention. It doesn’t seem to matter who is at quarterback here as the offensive line is bad and they seem to check down. I’m down for that, especially in PPR. Conklin is worth 1% of your remaining FAAB.
