FanDuel-GPP-Picks-Week-14

The picks below are specifically for FanDuel large field tournaments. I try to mix in some different prices and ownership to allow you to build a competitive team each week. Feel free to give some feedback or ask any fantasy football questions you may have on Twitter @BigEZDFS.  If you would like more information about my in-depth NFL DFS content, The Sheets, or you are interested please DM me on Twitter. Let’s get right into it with these FanDuel GPP Picks – Week 14.

Quarterbacks

Trevor Lawrence – $7,200 – Ownership Proj. 4%

Lawrence had a subpar game last week from what was expected but the Lions defense has been better as of late. The Titans however have not been, they are the same pass funnel defense. Lawrence also got banged up so that too may have contributed to him scoring fewer fantasy points than we would have hoped for. To add to that the Jaguars are currently three-point underdogs so Lawrence may have to throw a bit more, especially later in the game.

Jared Goff – $6,800 – Ownership Proj. 10%

I’m starting to feel a little weird that I keep putting Goff in here but He’s had a nice string of good matchups and on top of that the Lions are now getting their rookie wide receiver, Jameson Williams. This week they face the Vikings who Mike White just threw for over 300 yards. The Vikings are also slightly better against the run so hopefully, Jamaal Williams doesn’t play the vulture role on us.

Running Backs

Dalvin Cook – $8,700 – Ownership Proj. 15%

This game will garner a boatload of ownership and rightfully so. We know who the Vikings are on offense which is why Cook gets the nod here as he’s seen an uptick in touches. Over the last two weeks, he’s seen 26 and 22 touches. 24 touches against the Lions should turn into far more than it did versus the Jets in which he ended with 86 rushing yards, two catches, and a touchdown. If I’m paying up at running back, I would feel comfortable with Cook.

Tony Pollard / Ezekiel Elliott- $7,500 / $8,000 – Ownership Proj. 14% / 7%

Both Dallas backs here will get their share of work and if it gets out of hand like last week’s game  I fully expect that) we could also see some Malik Davis in garbage time. There is no definitive way in which the Cowboys deploy these running backs so you can feel free to use either one. I am a little surprised that Pollard is the cheaper of the two

D’Onta Foreman – $6,900 – Ownership Proj. 8%

Foreman hasn’t had the best season but he’s definitely flashed the potential to score RB1 fantasy points. He does have an injury concern so keep an eye on that. So long as Foreman is good to go I’ll be on him as he is facing the Seattle defense that ranked 24th in rushing defense DVOA and is allowing over 26 points per week to opposing running backs which is the second worst in the league.

Wide Receivers

Amon-Ra St. Brown – $8,600 – Ownership Proj. 18%

Yup, I’m on the Lions again this week. St. Brown is returning to the form he showed at the end of last year and the first two games of this year. He’s scored over 20 FanDuel points each of the last two weeks and there’s nothing indicating that that will change here. Chark could also be in the mix but I love everything about the matchup this week for St. Brown, you should too.

Jerry Jeudy- $6,500 – Ownership Proj. 6%

The foundation for this pick is purely the potential volume that Jeudy receives. Courtland Sutton looks to be out this week so his targets will be spread between Jeudy and Greg Dulcich for the most part. The hope is that Jeudy can at least approach the 100-yard mark and grab a touchdown. That’s a definite possibility so long as Russell Wilson can be a shadow of his former self.

Zay Jones- $6,300 – Ownership Proj. 5%

Overall I like Christian Kirk but this week I think is Zay Jones week. Kirk should draw coverage the majority of the time from Amani Hooker who is allowing an NFL passer rating of only 33.9 in his 121 snaps in the slot position over the last four games. That means Jones should be covered primarily by Kristian Fulton and Roger McCreary who have allowed 24 receptions, 325 yards, and five touchdowns combined over their last four games. The 31 targets he’s received over the last three weeks show increased trust from Lawrence. He also comes in at only $6,300 and potentially sub-5% ownership as a bonus.

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce. – $8,000 – Ownership Proj. 14%

This is an ugly position this year in fantasy and I’ve not suggested Kelce until now. I generally try to keep my tight end salary down but sometimes you need to pay up. I think this week fits that need. Kelce is head and shoulders above the other tight ends and has finished the week in the top four tight ends in all but three weeks. Two of those three are the last two weeks, I feel he is the top-scoring tight end when the week concludes and gets us close to WR1 fantasy points.

TJ Hockenson – $6,500 – Ownership Proj. 9%

This game has all the makings of a shootout and due to that, I think it will also have its share of ownership. The Lions defense has shown some improvement over the last few weeks but it’s still nothing to worry about, especially against tight ends where they rank 30th in fantasy points allowed. I see Hockenson getting in the eight target range for a line of 7/70/1 which should put him in the GPP target score range for us.

DSTs

Pittsburgh Steelers – $3,800

The Steelers defense as we all know is noticeably better with TJ Watt on the field and this week they’ll get back quarterback Tyler Huntley. While Huntley has shown to be a capable backup he is still inexperienced and with pressure could be prone to turnovers. This isn’t pretty but aside from the Cowboys against the Texans this is a nice spot to land.

Stacks

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans

If you’re looking to stay away from the high-owned passing stacks I found your spot. This stack should come in somewhere around 10-12% in total ownership. It will also save you a decent amount of money allowing you to pay up elsewhere. Trevor Lawrence / Zay Jones / Chig Okonkwo will cost you $18,300 leaving you just under $7k for each remaining player. If you use the Steelers that puts you in an even better position with $7,580 left per player. It’s not winning a beauty or popularity contest but we not looking to either.

Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers

The Ravens passing defense is ranked 11th in DVOA but over the last four weeks, they only have one cornerback (Marlon Humphrey) and one safety (Kyle Hamilton) that allow an NFL passer rating of under 100 when targeted. We also have the possibility of the squeaky wheel narrative here. Last week rookie wide receiver George Pickens let the world know he is unhappy with the number of targets he’s been getting, this is a great opportunity to get him and Diontae Johnson going early and often. You can stack with your choice of Pickens, Johnson, and even tight end Freiermuth. If you feel you must run it back, DeMarcus Robinson received eight targets (leading the Ravens in two of the last three weeks) and a red zone target.

As always, be sure to watch the injury reports leading up to each kickoff and follow me on Twitter @BigEZDFS for possible changes, added picks, or additional DFS content.
