Fantasy-Football-Waiver-Wire-Pickups-Week-4-2023

Welcome back to another edition of Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups. We’re heading into Week 4 of the 2023 NFL season. For your fantasy football teams, adding the right players off the waiver wire is absolutely crucial to your fantasy football success. Follow along with us all season long and we’ll help you make your way into the fantasy football playoffs.

The Miami Dolphins scored 50 points and if you had a combination of just Dolphins in your lineup, you could have scored over 200 points. Not only is Tyreek Hill dominating, but so is Justin Jefferson. What’s the split going to be like if and when Jonathan Taylor comes back with Zack Moss after he rushed the ball 30 times for 122 yards along with three receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown?

No matter our record, there are always areas to improve in. Regardless of your situation, here are players you should look to add for Week 3 based on CBS Fantasy Sports roster percentages. These players are listed in order of priority. Let’s get right into it with the top waiver wire pickups for your fantasy football teams as we head into Week 4!

Quarterback Waiver Wire Pickups

C.J. Stroud, QB, Houston Texans (33% Rostered)

For the second straight week, C.J. Stroud has thrown back-to-back multiple touchdowns adding to that 664 yards along with 8.6 yards per attempt over that time. For as bad as the Texans have been, they’ve established the passing game as they have been trailing all games. Although, Sunday was interesting as they never trailed the Jaguars. With back-to-back games of 25-plus fantasy points, Stroud could be viewed as a low-end QB1 going forward. All things considered, he’s worth adding for up to 10% of your remaining FAAB.

Running Back Waiver Wire Pickups

De’Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins (57% Rostered)

What a day Achane and the Miami Dolphins had Sunday afternoon. Raheem Mostert had four touchdowns himself, but the rookie Achane had a day himself. Achane carried the ball 18 times for 203 yards along with bringing in all four of his targets for another 30 yards and four total touchdowns. Now, the offense certainly won’t be putting up 70 points every week. However, Achane looked like he solidified himself as the RB2 of this offense. He’s worth adding for 25% of your remaining FAAB.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (31% Rostered)

It could have been because of a blow-out, but you can’t ignore the workload that Edwards-Helaire who carried the ball 15 times for 55 yards and a touchdown. Yet, the touchdown came late in the second quarter. The split between Edwards-Helaire and Isiah Pacheco is something to take note of. Even if this is a new role for Edwards-Helaire going forward, it could be game-dependent. All in all, he’s worth adding for up to 5% of your remaining FAAB.

Check to see if available: Tyjae Spears (68%), and Ezekiel Elliott (63%).

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups

Nathaniel Dell, WR, Houston Texans (57% Rostered)

Once again, Dell makes the waiver wire column. I thought after last week’s performance that he would have been well over the 60% threshold, but that wasn’t the case. Dell led the Texans with seven targets, yet was third on the team in snaps per PFF. Now, we can’t ignore his five catches for 145 yards and a touchdown. Everyone has knocked his size, but Dell has proven us otherwise. Let’s not ignore the next week the Texans get the Steelers who are struggling against the pass. Dell needs to be rostered in all leagues. He’s worth adding for up to 20% of your remaining FAAB.

Quentin Johnston (50% Rostered) and Josh Palmer (6% Rostered)

With the season-ending knee injury that Mike Williams suffered in Sunday’s win dictates how I would add one of these two receivers. It’s Palmer you should look at to roster. However, as the season goes on Johnston could be the one to roster. Yes, Palmer saw seven targets compared to Johnston’s three. Yes, Palmer caught the game-winning 30-yard touchdown.

These two statements alone dictate that Palmer is the one to target. Along with how the season has been so far. However, Johnston is a first-round draft pick and should be pushed onto the field more. In all honesty, I wouldn’t spend more than 15-20% of your remaining FAAB on Palmer and 10-15% on Johnston.

Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers (36% Rostered)

Like Nathaniel Dell, Reed continued to make an impact by catching three of his seven targets for 63 yards. Although he didn’t score, he did have the most receiving yards in his young career. Reed is developing into something special playing in the slot and he should continue to be involved even when Christian Watson returns. All in all, he is worth adding for 5% of your remaining FAAB.

Rashee Rice, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (26% Rostered)

For what it’s worth, Rice finished second behind Travis Kelce for targets (seven), receptions (five), and receiving yards (59). Rice had an almost 14-yard touchdown, that was vouched by Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Rice made an impact in Week 1, just to disappear in Week 2 to once again make an impact. However, this can’t be ignored as Patrick Mahomes likes to spread the ball around. The chemistry that Mahomes and Rice could be having could turn out to be something special. Outside of Kelce, it’s kind of hard to figure out what receiver here should be rostered. For now, my money is on Rice. Overall, he’s worth adding for up to 5% of your remaining FAAB.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts (7% Rostered)

You could say it was a product of Gardner Minshew’s game but Downs 12 targets are something that shouldn’t be ignored. He matched his first two weeks target total in Week 3 and turned it into eight receptions for 57 yards.  Downs has played the short area of the field, hence why his yardage is so low. The rookie receiver is starting to make a mark alongside Michael Pittman. He’s worth adding for 1% of your remaining FAAB.

Check to see if available: Romeo Doubs (76%), and Adam Thielen (67%).

Tight End Waiver Wire Pickups

Luke Musgrave, TE, Green Bay Packers (46% Rostered)

Although he hasn’t scored a touchdown, Musgrave was once again overthrown on what would have been a long touchdown. However, getting eight targets is nothing to push to the side. The athletic tight end and Jordan Love will eventually connect. What’s nice about Musgrave here is he’s been a factor in the offense each week. It should continue to grow with Love and hopefully, he can do more Thursday night as the Lions have struggled against the tight end. He’s worth adding for 1% of your remaining FAAB.

Zach Ertz, TE, Arizona Cardinals (43% Rostered)

If you read last week’s piece, I had Ertz as an add. Unfortunately, he had an off week in a massive upset over the Cowboys. However, he will look to bounce back against the San Francisco 49ers where they will more than likely trailing. He should see near double-digit targets in Week 4 and hopefully his first touchdown of the season. In the end, he’s worth adding for 1% of your remaining FAAB.

Check if available: Sam LaPorta (82%), and Hunter Henry (82%).
