Free-DraftKings-DFS-Picks-and-Bargains-Week-5-2023

Welcome to Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season. This series covers the top DraftKings value picks and bargains on the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) slate for Week 5.

To recap Week 4, rookie CJ Stroud threw for over 300 passing yards and had two touchdowns with 24.84 DraftKings points. Despite Stroud balling out, Tank Dell had a stat line of 1 reception,16 receiving yards, and 13 rushing yards for 3.90 DraftKings points. Meanwhile, Zack Moss was a bust with only 70 rushing yards and a 2-point conversation for 9 points. Unfortunately, Donald Parham Junior exited early during the game.

It’s time to bounce back and get into Week 5 with our DFS picks. Continue reading to find out what DraftKings picks and bargains we’re targetting this week in the NFL.

Quarterback – Ryan Tannehill, $4,900, Tennessee Titans

This is the spot on the slate that Ryan Tannehill can exploit as the value quarterback. Tannehill hasn’t been fantastic but he has not been horrible either. Tennessee Titans are facing the Indianapolis Colts. In our free Fantasy Football Consistency Score tool, the Indianapolis Colts are top 10 in quarterback score of 6.08 coming in at 7th. Simply put? Opposing quarterbacks go off against the Colts’ defense.
In terms of pass catchers, Tannehill has the weapons to thrive in this matchup. DeAndre Hopkins is of course getting older but he can find his first touchdown of the season here. Second-year wide receiver Treylon Burks is questionable and could suit up for the game. So far, Chig Okonkwo has been quiet this year, but this is a great spot for him as well as a very cheap play. All things considered, this price tag for Tannehill can do wonders for your DFS lineups.

Honorable Mentions: Bryce Young and Daniel Jones

Running Back – Breece Hall, $5,400, New York Jets

I am stepping into the running back carousel in New York. Breece Hall looks healthy as can be coming off his injury and has voiced his concern over playing time. Of course, the snap count is questionable because of how volatile it can be. Furthermore, Hall is the starting running back that we saw last game. The New York Jets are facing the Denver Broncos which is a running backs dream. Recently, it was reported that Hall is no longer on a snap count. This could be a breakout week for the stud running back.

Denver Broncos just got run over by Khalil Herbert last week with a stat line of 18-103. Take a peek into two weeks ago, the Miami Dolphins put up 70 real-life points. De’Von Achane, a rookie, had a stat line of 18-203-2 and Raheem Mostert had a stat line of 13-82-3. Hall has the explosiveness to blow up like we saw in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills running for over 100 yards. Keep in mind we have the news that Hall is officially off a snap count. The carries will certainly be there for Hall now with a full workload.

Honorable Mentions: Miles Sanders and Isiah Pacheco

Wide Receiver – Zay Flowers, $5,500, Baltimore Ravens

It is time for Zay Flowers to find his first touchdown of the year. The injuries are piling up for the Baltimore Ravens with Odell Beckham Junior and Rashod Bateman. If they do play, the DraftKings price tag is still cheap for Flowers. Despite last week only seeing 4 targets, he has 25 for the year before the week. Flowers being only a rookie is making his impact with Lamar Jackson.

Secondary on the Pittsburgh Steelers are banged up and it is certainly showing with the Houston Texans scoring 30 points against them last week. Nico Collins was able to accrue a stat line of 7-168-2 last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. CJ Stroud was able to have a great game, I can certainly imagine Lamar Jackson being able to find Flowers all over the field with his speed. According to our Consistency Score, Flowers is top 10 in wide receiver rankings with a 3.38 score. This means you can nearly trust him week in and week out at this point.

Honorable Mentions: Tank Dell and Tutu Atwell

Tight End – Jonnu Smith, $2,600, Atlanta Falcons

Dare I like an Atlanta Falcons pass catcher but the DraftKings price tag and target share are reeling me in. Kyle Pitts is still the starting tight end but Jonnu Smith is cutting into his production by far. Touchdowns may not be there yet for Smith but that is the theme of this article so far is players finding their first touchdown! Smith ended last week with a stat line of 6-95 in London.

We are digging for a diamond in the rough for a value play. In three weeks before the London game, Smith saw a 64% snap count compared to Pitts coming in at 70%. Additionally, the consistency has been there for Smith with his target share compared to Pitts. We are hunting for a touchdown here!

Honorable Mentions: Tyler Conklin and Hayden Hurst
