Free DraftKings DFS Picks and Bargains – Week 6 (2023)
Welcome to Week 6 of the 2023 NFL season. This series covers the top DraftKings value picks and bargains on the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) slate for Week 6.
To recap Week 5, Ryan Tannehill was in an excellent matchup but the comeback for the Tennessee Titans came up short with his interception. Tannehill earned only 10.76 DraftKings points. Breece Hall erupted and proved why he doesn’t need a snap count with 31.40 DraftKings points. Zay Flowers accumulated 12.30 DraftKings points with 76 receiving yards on five receptions. Jonnu Smith despite losing the fumble had 11.70 DraftKings fantasy points. Week 5 was okay but here we go with Week 6!
Quarterback – Desmond Ridder, $5,000, Atlanta Falcons
I am starting with a gross pick and many will say how dare I like someone from the Atlanta Falcons? Desmond Ridder is coming off a huge game where he led the Atlanta Falcons to a comeback win. He is now in a great matchup against the Washington Commanders over 30 points a game. According to our free fantasy football tool, the D-Pac Score, the Washington Commanders are giving up 21.03 fantasy points a game.
In regards to the weapons on offense that Ridder has, Kyle Pitts finally erupted onto the scene last game with 7 catches for 84 yards. If Ridder can keep Pitts moving in the offense then the sky is the limit for Ridder especially with Bijan Robinson at running back. Furthermore, we just saw DJ Moore have a career game against this defense. So it is really not that hard to see Drake London having a big game. Is it time to trust the Atlanta Falcons offense?
Honorable Mentions: Bryce Young and Gardner Minshew
Running Back – Emari Demercado, $4,900, Arizona Cardinals
It is time for TCU rookie running back to take over the scene in the Arizona Cardinals backfield. The undrafted rookie is set to be the lead back with James Conner going to the injury reserve. Emari Demercado looked extremely well last week in relief for Conner with 45 rushing yards and a touchdown. I understand Keaontay Ingram could start but he is injured as well.
Demercado has the pass-catching ability and DraftKings is perfect for pass-catching running backs with a point-per-reception scoring scheme. The Los Angeles Rams are not a great matchup for Demercado but even if the Arizona Cardinals are down, he can still see catches. The Los Angeles Rams are consistently allowing 70 rushing yards to a running back through their matchups. A few catches, receiving yards, 60 to 70 rushing yards, and a touchdown could pay off the salary for Demercado.
Wide Receiver – Brandon Powell, $3,000, Minnesota Vikings
Justin Jefferson is now on the injury reserve because of his hamstring. However, the terrible news to one of the best players in the league is now opening up targets for the Minnesota Vikings’ pass catchers. The six-season veteran bounced around the league for a while but is now in a shining moment. Brandon Powell is opening up now as the number three receiver on the team.
Last Sunday after Jefferson hurt his hamstring and left the game, Powell had four receptions for 43 yards in the fourth quarter. Powell is the bare minimum DraftKings price tag which will open up a ton of salary in your lineup. We aren’t needing a massive game but the price tag can easily be paid off. The matchup is enticing for the Minnesota Vikings pass catchers and Powell can be the diamond in the rough for your lineup.
Honorable Mentions: Tyler Boyd and KJ Osborn
Tight End – Tyler Conklin, $3,300, New York Jets
