Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week
Garrett Wilson vs. MIA
The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a wide receiver outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Miami Dolphins, Garrett Wilson is my start of the week.
Having Garrett Wilson as my start of the week may look gross on the surface. I’ll admit, I’m worried about Wilson only scoring 0.9 points last week because of his quarterback situation. It’s an issue that doesn’t look like it’s getting solved anytime soon.
The Jets have officially turned to Tim Boyle, which is very concerning; that said, it’s almost impossible to get worse than Zach Wilson. However, Wilson has been dealing with horrible quarterback play all year and is still averaging 13.1 PPG.
The game script is excellent for Wilson, and he has a solid matchup. Starting with the game script, the Jets are 10-point favorites, which will force them to pass the ball more than normal. It’s also worth noting that the Dolphins have allowed the 10th most fantasy points to wide receivers, 37.04 PPG.
According to PFF, Wilson has a matchup advantage score of 52.9, which is “average.” Even though the situation is terrible, I’m betting on Wilson to finish as a top-24 option because of his talent and the game script for Week 12.
