Tight End – Start Of The Week

Logan Thomas @ NE

The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a tight end outside the top 12 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Facing off against the New England Patriots, Logan Thomas is my start of the week.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Logan Thomas is a fantastic start this week. If you don’t know the backstory of why, I’m a Logan Thomas hater; coming off his 20-point week, I ranked him below Kyle Pitts. The hate was absolutely ridiculous until Thomas scored 1.2 points.

Thomas is coming off a 9.1 and 16.4 point performance in the past two games, and even better, his targets have risen. Being able to command volume is so important for tight ends, which is why it’s a big deal to see Thomas draw six and eight targets.

This isn’t a phenomenal matchup against the Patriots, but the Commanders are three-point underdogs. This is a good thing for almost every pass catcher, but for the Commanders, this is fantastic. Sam Howell is already a solid quarterback, but he thrives when playing from behind.

So far this year, the Commanders have the 4th most pass attempts per game with 38.5. Since the Commanders will be forced to throw the ball even more than normal in this game, Thomas is going to have a ton of potential opportunities, which is all you can ask for.
