Welcome back to another dynasty fantasy football rookie mock draft. Today, we’re doing an early 2024 1QB Dynasty Rookie Mock. Stay with us all off-season long as we’ll be bringing you 2024 NFL Draft coverage as well as dynasty rookie content. From mock drafts to individual player analysis to up-to-date rookie ADP, we’re covering it all.

As we begin to look at the 2024 NFL Draft and its eligible prospects, one noticeable thing is the speed and talent that the class possesses. The league is rapidly moving towards schemes that thrive on efficiency, creativity, and ready-made players who can contribute. Many organizations cannot afford multiple years of development with players such as running back or quarterback, of course for very different reasons. Those positions need to perform exceedingly well on their rookie contracts to warrant extension discussions, but the advancement in the college game has allowed NFL teams to find these answers quicker and quicker.

The 2024 draft has been properly hyped for a few years, with talents such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brock Bowers looking as adaptable as a player can look at this stage. Both of those players have well-documented athleticism, smoothness, and production that allow them to be viewed as bonafide future NFL stars. While those two players are very likely the future of their positions, the attention they receive has allowed other talented prospects to go a bit under the radar, some even from those same college teams.

In this article, we’ll be looking at the 2024 NFL Draft and examine a few players who could be difference-makers in their own right. This upcoming draft is not a two-player draft for single quarterback leagues, and we could see valuable players taken into the second round. For now, let’s take a peek at the first twelve picks and see who could join Harrison Jr. and Bowers as future NFL stars.

2024 1QB Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft

1.01 WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State

Of course, we begin this article with the big kahuna Marvin Harrison Jr. He’s one of the most secure assets that we have seen since the 2021 NFL Draft with Trevor Lawrence and Ja’Marr Chase. Those familiar with college football have gotten very familiar with this player, and those who follow pro football are already familiar with the talent his father had. Harrison Jr. should follow in his father’s footsteps as a future starting wide receiver in the NFL, as well as in fantasy football lineups. In short, Harrison Jr. has the type of talent that can take control of a game, similar to top wide receivers Chase, Jefferson, AJ Brown, or Davante Adams. Yes, he’s that good.

If you give this player multiple looks on a sustained drive, he’s gonna give your fantasy football team points. Whether it be from yards after the catch or getting in the end zone. Additionally, Harrison Jr., you have a big body who has found the end zone 22 times in 21 games for the Buckeyes in the last two seasons. Needless to say, he has dominated in college and will look to continue that at the next level. Many will say he’s the most talented player in the 2024 draft, and there is no reason to take him anywhere but at the top of single quarterback rookie drafts. He’ll be arguably the 1.01 in all formats of dynasty rookie drafts, even Superflex drafts.

1.02 TE Brock Bowers, Georgia

Speaking of superior talents at their respective position, let’s take a look at Georgia tight end Brock Bowers. He is a player who is valuable and worthy of this top capital due to similar dominance at the collegiate level.

Furthermore, he is a smooth route-running tight end who has an incredible amount of explosiveness with the ball in his hands. Bowers has found the end zone 24 times in his college career. If he returns from injury for the Bulldogs, expect that number to rise. His athletic twitch and movement at the position are indicators that he can be a difference-maker at the next level, especially doing it against top SEC competition.

Taking Bowers this early is due to his elite upside and the positional value he should provide early on. In the end, he should be a top 15 NFL Draft pick and be a top option for his drafted team. This should give your dynasty team a top-three fantasy football tight end for the foreseeable future.

1.03 QB Caleb Williams, USC

The top end of single quarterback leagues will be more hashed out the closer we get to the draft. However, it’s hard to imagine a talent on the level of USC’s Caleb Williams falling out of the top five, even in single quarterback formats. Williams is a game-changing quarterback, a quarterback with enough talent to become a top-five player at his position. Unfortunately for 2024, we’ve seen young running backs have a bit of a disappointing start to their seasons, which has pushed up wide receivers and the formerly mentioned Bowers.

However, Williams’ best outcome is still worthy of this pick. He has 9 rushing touchdowns on the season and a 25/4 touchdown to interception ratio. If he reaches that Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson-like level with rushing upside, you will have a secure position for your team for as long as Williams plays. Overall, he’s a top player for dynasty rookie drafts, even in 1QB leagues.

1.04 WR Malik Nabers, LSU

The LSU Tigers have given the NFL a few playmaking wide receivers over the last few years. For 2024, Malik Nabers should find himself next in line as a top prospect from the college game. Nabers has further exploded in 2023 and put to sleep the worries about his ability to get in the end zone (9 touchdowns in 2023).

Nabers is a speed wide receiver who can be used on deep balls or screens. Additionally, he exudes versatility while still showing comfort in the role he’s asked to play. Fantasy football teams will always need boom talents. If you give this player five to seven opportunities a game, he’s going to boom a fair amount of times.

In dynasty leagues, the wide receiver is a position rebuilders need. WRs sustain value well when they hit, and even still have plenty of suitors when they go through a rough patch. Right now, Nabers currently projects as a first-round talent, giving us dynasty managers even more confidence in how the NFL may view this player. Furthermore, he’s done it for two years at the top level and should be able to show his top-tier athleticism during the pre-draft process. In the end, he should be valued as a WR2 right away who can reach back-end WR1 seasons with a large enough role.

1.05 WR Rome Odunze, Washington

Rome Odunze has had a couple of strong seasons since the transfer of Michael Penix Jr. and should continue to see his stock grow in the pre-draft process. He is a deep threat and is good at the go route, while also being a physical receiver in the short game. Additionally, he should be a sizable threat at the next level and a favorite target of the quarterback he is paired with.

Furthermore, Odunze has the speed to thrive in the yards-after-catch facet of the game. Overall, he’s just a very solid all-around prospect who should see more hype and supporters the closer we get to the NFL Draft. In the end, he may go a bit under the radar in the first round or early Day 2. However, that just means Odunze may find himself going to a competitor or have a more secure option at quarterback. In the end, that can only be good for his development and your dynasty teams.

1.06 RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State

We start a running back run here at the 1.06 with Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson. He has all the speed and the decent size that you want for the next level while being a receiving threat as well. Unfortunately, he has dealt with injury issues the last couple of seasons. However, he has seemingly put that behind him as he and the Buckeyes compete for a National Championship.

Henderson will be needed for this Buckeyes team, as he offers some speed and shiftiness that the team doesn’t have in backfield teammates Deamonte Trayanum or Miyan Williams. Following the season, he should see his stock rise through the NFL Combine and individual workouts, and has shown enough when healthy to take him as the top running back in 2024. I believe he is a safe bet as a Day 2 talent that you’ll want to grab in the middle of the first round next season, if not earlier.

1.07 RB Jonathon Brooks, Texas

Jonathon Brooks from Texas has likely seen his stock rise more than anybody in this entire first-round mock article. He’s taken over since Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson moved on to the NFL. Not to mention, Brooks will only be 21 next July.

Brooks is a young incoming prospect who has shown plenty of grit and talent in his role each week for the Longhorns. He’s the clear top back for the team, and should only see his stock grow as the Longhorns progress into bowl season. So far, he’s at nearly 1,000 yards on the season with a few more contests left to go, even showing receiving prowess along the way.

No, this class doesn’t have a Bijan Robinson or Jahmyr Gibbs talent at running back. However, players like Henderson and Brooks are very good Day 2 talents who should see running back reps soon in their careers. That would be an encouraging result for these two players after being taken in the middle of rookie first rounds in 2024.

1.08 RB Blake Corum, Michigan

We’ve seen the beginning of a run on backs here in the first round, and we continue that trend with the next two picks, starting with Michigan’s Blake Corum. His production is evident, scoring 32 times in 26 collegiate games. Additionally, he is just a strong and competent rusher who would’ve been taken at a similar point in the 2023 rookie drafts, had he declared.

Corum has come back in an attempt to win a National Championship with the Wolverines. However, dynasty managers will like his ability to see the field and contribute in the rushing game. He’s a strong rusher between the tackles and if the cards turn in his favor, we could see him getting red zone touches and other important snaps early in his NFL career.

No, this running back class isn’t elite by any means. However, with a few options taken in the middle rounds, there should at least be some opportunity to roster a few future RB2s from this 2024 class.

1.09 RB Trey Benson, Florida State

Our final running back in the run, and this article, is Florida State Seminoles rusher, Trey Benson. He’s a bruting back who transferred to Florida State last season and has produced as the lead back. In 2022 he rushed for 990 yards and nine touchdowns. Since then, he has followed that up in 2023 with 544 yards and seven touchdowns in 8 games.

Benson is a downhill runner but has also shown enough versatility to create interest for us PPR managers (16 catches on the season). He should only see his stock continue to grow as the draft gets closer. While he may become a late Day 2 pick, he’s still very much worthy of being taken in the first round of rookie drafts.

Over the next few seasons, names like Austin Ekeler, Alvin Kamara, Aaron Jones, and Derrick Henry will be nearing the tail end of their careers. As a result, names like Corum and Benson may not jump off the page athletically, but they could certainly fill in here and there to produce.

1.10 WR Troy Franklin, Oregon

Clearly, the wide receiver position is a very strong one for dynasty purposes. Especially in this upcoming class, and Oregon’s Troy Franklin fits the mold of a talented player who can adapt to the next level. He has the speed to be one of the fastest players on the field and also the route-running talent to create chaos when he reaches the second and third levels of the defense.

Fast and tough to tackle, Franklin has grown into a very productive player for the Ducks. He’s scored 9 times this season and is only 24 yards from matching his career high in receiving. Ultimately, production and speed are two things the NFL can get behind in a prospect nowadays. More importantly for Franklin, he has an abundance of both. All in all, this is a very good value as we head into the final picks of this rookie mock draft.

1.11 QB Michael Penix Jr., Washington

We stay in the Pacific Northwest and draft quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the second-to-last pick here. Penix Jr. currently projects as a first-round talent due to his arm talent and his seemingly natural leadership skills. He’s grown into his role in a new program over the last two years and has gotten his draft stock to continue to point straight up.

As for stats, he’s thrown for 24 touchdowns this season in a potent Huskies passing offense and could have an impact in the red zone rushing as well. Additionally, he is a competent and efficient passer who doesn’t put himself in bad situations. Really, he could find himself having a Dak Prescott-like career if he gets into a good organization.

With tier dropoffs beginning to happen at running back and wide receiver at this point in the draft, it’s a good time to take a first-round quarterback who has the potential to be a back-end fantasy QB1 during his professional career. Taking him here in a strong quarterback class should give the league’s runner-up a good option at the position going forward.

1.12 WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State

Emeka Egbuka of Ohio State has unfortunately been in the shadow of Marvin Harrison Jr. for the last two seasons. However, he still boasts impressive route running and talent for us to take here at the 1.12. He thrives on screens and in the short game with his impressive agility and ability to evade defenders.

We have all seen that Ohio State has been producing many capable wide receivers over the last few years. Egbuka deserves to be considered a part of that list. Drafting a wide receiver from Ohio State almost feels like free money, a very safe pick that NFL teams should trust coming in.

Furthermore, Egbuka has been hurt but could return any time now. As expected, that should continue his resume-building as we move closer to the pre-draft process. Trust the talent and expect him to have a similar high IQ to Garrett Wilson and Harrison Jr. He may not reach those players’ ceilings, but getting a solid WR3 long-term from the 1.12 is more than worthy of the investment. For the last pick in the first round, this is a great value.
