3 Christian McCaffrey San Francisco 49ers 4 45.2
2 Amari Cooper Cleveland Browns 16 46.0
1 De’Von Achane Miami Dolphins 3 49.3

10) Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins

Week 1: 39 Fantasy Points

The explosive wide receiver kicks off our top-10 after having a career year in 2023. Hill set career highs in receptions (119), targets (171), receiving yards (1,799), and fantasy points per game (19.8). However, the superstar gave fantasy players his best performance of the year to start the season.

Hill dropped 39 fantasy points in the Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. The explosive receiver obliterated the Chargers’ defense, totaling 11 receptions on 15 targets for 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the victory. While he had several other impressive performances last season, it was the only time Hill had over 200 receiving yards.

9) Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

Week 15: 39.2 Fantasy Points

After struggling with injuries during his time with the Carolina Panthers, McCaffrey has been outstanding since joining the 49ers. He ended the 2023 season as the RB1, averaging 1.3 touchdowns and 22.4 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, the superstar led the NFL in rushing yards for the first time in his career.

Every week felt like fantasy players got an elite performance for McCaffrey. Yet, the former Stanford star destroyed the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. He had 18 rushing attempts for 115 yards and a touchdown on the ground. McCaffrey also scored 21.7 fantasy points in the passing game, totaling five receptions for 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the victory over the Cardinals.

8) Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Week 12: 39.7 Fantasy Points

Despite finishing second in the NFL with a career-high 18 interceptions last season, Allen ended the year as the QB1, averaging 23.1 fantasy points per game. The superstar quarterback averaged at least 23 fantasy points per game for the fourth consecutive year. Allen’s passing touchdown total dipped from 2022 to 2023. However, he finished second in the NFL with 15 rushing touchdowns, a career-high.

When the Bills faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12, it was one of the top games this past season. Allen had only nine rushing attempts but totaled 81 yards and two touchdowns in the game, scoring 20.1 fantasy points with his legs. That would be enough to give him a top-five weekly finish. Yet, Allen also had 339 passing yards and two touchdowns in the overtime loss.

7) Raheem Mostert, Miami Dolphins

Week 3: 41.7 Fantasy Points

No one saw Mostert having the season he did in 2023. The veteran ended the year as the RB2, averaging 17 fantasy points per game. Christian McCaffrey was the only running back to outscore Mostert last season despite missing the final two regular-season contests. He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 18 after totaling 14 over the first eight years of his career.

Mostert’s top fantasy performance came in the historical Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos. The Dolphins scored 70 points in the blowout win. The veteran running back had 13 rushing attempts for 82 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He also set season-highs in receptions (seven), targets (seven), receiving yards (60), and touchdowns (one) in the victory.

6) C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

Week 9: 41.8 Fantasy Points

Rarely do quarterbacks enter the NFL and become stars as a rookie. However, that’s what Stroud did this year. Not only did he have the top fantasy performance by a quarterback in 2023, but the former Ohio State star ended the season as the QB9, averaging 18.4 fantasy points per game. He had a higher fantasy points per game average than several big-name superstars, including Patrick Mahomes.

While the rookie was entertaining every week for fantasy players, his best performance came in the comeback victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. Stroud had 470 passing yards and five touchdowns in the win, setting NFL records for a rookie quarterback. He put up those massive numbers despite having fewer than 50 pass attempts in the game.

5) Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

Week 5: 44.7 Fantasy Points

Unfortunately, Joe Burrow struggled with injuries last season. His injury issues played a role in Chase having the worst fantasy finish of his career. The superstar averaged 13.3 fantasy points per game and totaled seven touchdowns, both career lows. However, he had over 1,000 receiving yards for the third consecutive year.

Many thought the Bengals had turned the corner in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. Burrow looked healthy, and Chase had his way with Arizona’s defense. The former LSU star had 15 receptions on 19 targets for 192 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the blowout victory. Yet, he somehow didn’t finish the week as the WR1. That honor went to the next guy on the list.

4) DJ Moore, Chicago Bears

Week 5: 45 Fantasy Points

It’s not very often that you can score 44.7 fantasy points and not end the week as the WR1. Unfortunately, that happened to Ja’Marr Chase because Moore had a career performance on Thursday night against the Washington Commanders. The former Maryland star had eight receptions on 10 targets for 230 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He had no trouble picking away an awful Washington secondary.

Despite playing 4.5 games with Tyson Bagent at quarterback, Moore had a career year in 2023. He set career highs across the board, totaling 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns. Furthermore, the former Maryland star finished the season as the WR6, averaging 14 fantasy points per game. Regardless of who plays quarterback for Chicago next year, Moore is prime for another top-10 finish.

3) Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

Week 4: 45.2 Fantasy Points

There is only one player to make the top 10 list twice – McCaffrey. The superstar running back had his two best matchups of the year against the NFC West division rival Arizona Cardinals. He had 20 rushing attempts for 106 yards and three touchdowns, scoring 28.6 fantasy points on the ground. Yet, McCaffrey also scored 16.6 fantasy points in the passing game, totaling seven receptions for 71 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The future Hall of Famer was far and away the top running back in the NFL last season. His 1,459 rushing yards were nearly 300 more than any other player. Yet, McCaffrey also finished third in receptions, second in receiving yards, and first in touchdowns among running backs despite missing the final 1.5 games of the year with a calf injury.

2) Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns

Week 16: 46 Fantasy Points

Unlike almost everyone else on the list, Cooper didn’t have a top-15 finish in 2023. He was the WR18, averaging 12.7 fantasy points per game despite playing with four quarterbacks. Yet, the veteran wide receiver was productive with all but one. He averaged 15.1 fantasy points per game in the 12 contests that Dorian Thompson-Robinson didn’t start.

Cooper saved his best fantasy performance for the fantasy playoffs. He had 11 receptions on 15 targets for 265 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Week 16 win over the Houston Texans. The star wide receiver set the franchise record for receiving yards in a game. While he sat out the Week 17 contest because of an injury, Cooper made sure his fantasy players made it to the championship matchup.

1) De’Von Achane, Miami Dolphins

Week 3: 49.3 Fantasy Points

The No. 1 spot on the top 10 list goes to possibly the most dangerous and explosive players in the NFL. Achane’s rookie season will get talked about all offseason. The former Texas A&M star ended the year as the RB24, averaging 16.1 fantasy points per game. Yet, he was the RB4 on a points-per-game basis. Furthermore, Achane averaged 19.4 fantasy points per game in the nine contests with more than two touches.

While Raheem Mostert had four touchdowns and 41.7 fantasy points in the 50-point blowout against the Denver Broncos, the rookie earned the RB1 title that week. Achane scored 17 fantasy points in the passing game on only four targets. Yet, the explosive running back also had 18 rushing attempts for 203 yards and two touchdowns on the ground during his welcome to the NFL performance.
