Week 3 — Top 24 WR Fantasy Football Rankings and Tiers

In Week 2 of the NFL season, we saw a ton of massive games from receivers, but none more impressive than Puka Nacua. I would have never believed you if, four weeks ago, you told me that Nacua would be outsourcing Ja’Marr Chase. Yet here we are, and since crazy things like this are happening all over the NFL, we’re forced to adjust our rankings for Week 3. Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week

Michael Pittman @ BAL

The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a wide receiver outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Ravens, Michael Pittman is my start of the week.

In his first two games, Pittman is averaging 18.6 PPG despite the fact that Anthony Richardson has been banged up. Richardson has been much better than expected, but even if he misses this week due to injury, Gardner Minshew is a serviceable quarterback.

Pittman only scored 13.8 points in Week 2, but he still commanded 12 targets. The issue was that his YDS/TGT dropped from 8.8 to 4.7, but he should find a middle ground of around six this week. The Colts are hopeful that Richardson will be able to play in week three, but either way, Pittman should be a locked and loaded WR2.

For one, the Ravens have been a bottom-10 defense in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers this year. In two games, the Ravens have allowed 23.8 points a game to receivers. Since Pittman is the target hog in this offense, he will greatly benefit from this.

According to Odds Shark, the Colts are 9.5-point underdogs against the Ravens, but this isn’t as bad as it may sound. Although it would be nice to have a closer game environment, this tells us that the Colts will trail for almost the whole game, forcing them to pass. Pittman is a must-start this week, as he will see a ton of volume as the Colts play from behind.
