Part of the excitement of being in a dynasty fantasy football league is the thrill of your new rookie additions. Did you make the right decision? Should you have gone with another rookie? Now that the NFL Draft is over and we have all of our beloved rookie players with their landing spots, tune in to check my Power Rankings of the 2022 rookie class.

These Power Rankings are fluid and could change as time goes on, which is really the difference between them and traditional rankings. Let’s dig right into it with the first installment, 2022 Dynasty Rookie Power Rankings 1.0.

Treylon Burks

Day 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft was absolutely wild. With all the chaos, came the perfect landing spot for Treylon Burks. Coming off what some considered a “sluggish” NFL Combine for Burks, he seemed to have taken a backseat to Drake London as the WR1 in this class. Either way, Burks is a big, athletic, YAC monster that will be able to deliver an immediate impact on the Titans.

Many compared Burks to AJ Brown, who is exactly who he replaced in Tennessee. With Brown’s departure to Philadelphia, Burks is in line to receive a heavy workload. In Brown’s first three seasons with Tennessee, he averaged 98 targets, 1,000 yards, and eight touchdowns per season. You can expect some immediate results and great long-term value.

Drake London

London would be first overall here if he had Ryan Tannehill as his quarterback. Instead, he comes into an offense led by Marcus Mariota, who hasn’t started a game since Week 15 of the 2020 NFL season. London has all the skills to be a WR1 in this Atlanta offense and I expect him to embrace the role.

Last year at USC, he had a tremendous 38% target share and led all wide receivers in contested catches. High expectations surround London, as he was the first wide receiver off the board, and has quite literally no competition in that wide receiver room with Ridley suspended. He and Kyle Pitts could both see well over 130 targets in that Atlanta offense, regardless of who is throwing the ball. With opportunity, comes production.

Breece Hall

The 1.01 in most rookie drafts comes in third. The Jets had a major offensive overhaul this offseason, and Breece Hall benefits greatly from this. The Jets beefed up their offensive line by adding Laken Tomlinson this offseason, and drafted talented wide receiver Garrett Wilson (who just missed the cut to make an appearance later) to make this offense, dare I say, entertaining?

Michael Carter was able to carry the workload pretty effectively for the Jets in 2021 totaling 639 rushing yards and 325 receiving yards. I expect a solid 1-2 punch in that offense, but the Jets didn’t take Hall as the first running back off the board for no reason. He will come in and be the workhorse you drafted with 1.01. Depending on who you ask, the Jets grabbed the best rookie running back and the best rookie wide receiver this year.

Chris Olave

This 2022 wide receiver class came in with some elite prospects, and Chris Olave could have arguably been right there with London and Burks. He had a great performance at his NFL Combine, posting a 4.39 in his 40-yard dash, and possesses arguably the best route-running skills in this draft class.

The Saints traded up to get Olave, and with the injuries and the uncertainty that is Michael Thomas, I believe Olave has the ability to run away with the WR1 title in New Orleans. Jameis Winston is the starter for the Saints, which also results in my ranking of Olave fourth here. When Winston starts all 16 (17 now) games, he has averaged 575 attempts per season. Olave is the future at the wide receiver position for the Saints, and I expect immediate impact in year one.

Skyy Moore

The entire fantasy football world went into a frenzy when the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill. Hill’s departure leaves a pretty large hole in the Chiefs offense that many wondered how Andy Reid would make up. Hill averaged 118 targets over his six-year stint with the Chiefs, with FOUR top-10 PPR seasons.

The Chiefs went out and signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, but he’s a much different wide receiver than Hill. Who else was going to step up?  Welcome, Skyy Moore. Moore was one of my favorite players coming into this NFL Draft. In his final season at Western Michigan, Moore lit up the field. He closed out his final year posting 1,292 receiving yards, along with 10 touchdowns, ending the season being PFF’s third-highest graded wide receiver (91.6). He’s a scrappy, smaller wide receiver, who makes people miss and is great after the catch. Sound familiar? Now, bringing all that together and pairing him with Patrick Mahomes? That’s enough for me to place Moore at five. The Skyy is the limit!
